GoneFishingLTN Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I have a Abu verita 6 ft 9in mh. I believe it’s fast action what would this be best suited for? Quote
Diggy Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 It's pretty multi purpose. I've used mine for worms, jigs, spinner baits, chatter baits, square bills, senkos, top water walking baits, jerk baits, flukes, etc. Even frogging in places with overhanging trees when bank fishing since it's a little shorter than the conventional 7ft+ rods. 1 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted December 28, 2017 Super User Posted December 28, 2017 If it's a MH/F, I own a 2014 model and use it for anything except deep diving baits and really light lures. 1 Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 Would it be good for jerkbaits or not really? Does anyone every use crankbait rods fiberglass for jerkbaits Quote

That is a good rod to "keep in the truck", It will work great with spinnerbaits, lipless, chatters, buzzbaits, and jigs, and will do in a pinch for most other things. smaller baits and cranking not so much. Dirtyeggroll Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I have the same rod. I find that it is a bit stiff (heavy) for throwing crankbaits such as squarebills and jerk baits. I find it difficult to get much casting distance or accuracy with an overhead cast with these type of baits. I do however occasionally throw these baits with this rod since this is the rod I keep in my truck. I am able to somewhat compensate for the stiffness by making sidearm casts. It works well for heavier baits such as jigs, Texas rigs, swing heads and heavier spinner baits. Quote
