Oh and this just in - Blizzard this weekend ~ Calling for a foot of snow.

Are you serious?

Our forecast for the weekend sucks....rain all weekend and thunderstorms Saturday. I guess I won't complain. If I got a foot of snow at this point I'm pretty sure I'd put in for a transfer to  Indiana.

Supposed to be 60 here Friday and I'm hoping we get a good storm Saturday so maybe that'll help green things up a little. I'm really tired of looking at bland colors all day everyday, I need some fresh colors.

That's pretty Crazy -

What's totally funny & a bit Ironic is -

Just 2 years ago we had to wait until the 3rd week of April to even Legally fish for bass here - and some years it'd be another week after that before the ice out anyway.

But now, since it's all season C&R, we're complaining if it's still iced up in March !

We have problems . . . .

Same thing happened here when we got our full season C&R.

In New Brunswick, lakes do not open until May 1st ..... The scheduled Tournament I spoke of above is in Maine.

Most Hard Core Landlock Salmon and Speckled Trout Fisherman in my area hope the ice stays in until April 30th to keep the Rainbow Smelt from spawning early. The smelt will spawn as soon as the ice goes and the Salmon, Trout and Bass follow them to the creeks. It is the best (easiest) 5-6 days of fishing and "ALL" the big girls will be present.

Now I am starting to ramble ...... ;)

Looks like we're skipping spring altogether.  It's been doing this for a few years now.  Freezing, snow, then overnight it's in the 80s.

We get that some years as well but we have had a true spring this year. 80 degrees in February and snow in April

Well I'm regretting posting the Simpson's meme when @slonezp posted the picture of snow the other day. Our forecast for the weekend has taken a drastic turn. The forecast calls for rain tomorrow, rain/freezing rain Saturday switching over to all freezing rain through Sunday afternoon with ice accumulation up to 1.2" of ice. It's pretty deflating weather man uses the words "incapacitating" in his forecast. ?

@A-Jay you better turn the dogs around, I think you might fair better than me.

You're right 12-16" is no joke or fun at all. The trees and power lines are what I'm worried about here. Fingers crossed they're wrong for both of us.

Pretty windy here too. Just got home from work and I have 3 downed trees behind my house. The ice is starting to build on the roads signs. We're getting a break in a couple house then the main event starts tonight.

If it's anything like we got yesterday, batten down the hatches.  The good news for us is that the thaw is already under way.  Tomorrow 60's, and Monday near 80 will take care of the drifts.

We are getting pounded up here. It hasn't stopped snowing since Friday afternoon. I can't tell you how munch we got as its blowing. I was lucky enough I had to work this morning. On a normal day it takes me 20 minutes or so to get to work. Today with a foot plus of snow, and no snow plows. It took me 40 minutes.

What got me was the amount of people out when I got done with work. I know you could say they were going to work, but when 99% of the cars I saw. Were jammed packed full of people. They were not going to work, and on a Sunday. Heck even old ladys who cant  drive when its 80 and sunny out. Were coming home from church.

Every restaurant that I went by on my way home was jammed packed.  The only retailer I went by was Gander Mt. They had a few cars out side. I am sure my local wal mart was packed with idiots. I don't know why they were out. If I didnt have to leave home. I would have stayed home.

Well we made it through. We didn't get the inch plus of ice. It was mostly sleet thank god! School has been cancelled tomorrow so the roads must be a little slick. There are some power outages and most should be back on by the end of the day tomorrow.

@A-Jay how did you fare?
