Well, it's that time of year again! ?. I'm looking to add a rod n reel to my line up.  Problem is....I don't know what to get.  I'm looking at a nice jerk / topwater casting combo but can't help but think I should get a spinning setup for finesse applications.

Any suggestions to assist me in my decision?

Thanks,

Get a nice spinning rod for a Ned rig rod and drop shot rod. I catch way more fish on that set up.

Here here! Or is it "Hear, hear!"

Either way, I agree. Go for a nice spinning setup for

the Ned rig and other finesse applications. You'll add

numbers to your catch rate, and plenty of big-uns in

between on the very same setup! :)

@Stephen B, I can get a pretty good deal on Abu so I'm looking more toward them.

@fishinfool, funny you should say that, I thought about the spinning reel after trying to fish ned rigs on casting gear this fall.
