If you use nail weights for neko rigs, weighted soft jerkbaits, etc, which works for you?

What is the advantage of using the custom-made tungsten variety over something out of the hardware store?

Use screws..they stay in better and you can buy 50 of them for 1.59.....

As long as they fit and it's the weight you want it doesn't matter what they're made of.

Cheap finishing nails work best for me.

The lunker city weights are really good. Don't like tungsten for neko rigs. Prefer the push in ribbed lead style. drywall screws work really well, too.

Paneling nails

The little ridges hold very well ?

Unweighted Texas Rigged Trick Worm, 3/0 hook, with a 1" paneling nail in the tail will fall horizontally!

I like the VMC lead one's. No need to pay for Tungsten and regular nails aren't heavy enough for the proper action.

Care to make a bet?

Nails come in different diameters equalling different weights.

A pack of the lunker citys goes a long way, and you can easily break a lead segment off to get the weight you want. Not as practical with a nail or screw. Also lead is heavier for its size than zinc, stainless, or whatever else.

Tungsten is kindve a waste there due to cost. I did use to glue little true tungsten bullet weights inside some mann's hardnose plastics, smaller than lead and it helped tremendously in filamentous algae.

Buy tungsten and feel your heart in your stomache when youve flung your entire pack into the lake!
