jmill_fishing Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I'll be fishing texoma in a week and I was wondering what heads and swimbaits to use there. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 24, 2017 Global Moderator Posted December 24, 2017 Tons of different options out there. I pour my own but I have some from Strike King that are really nice too. If you can find some with a strong enough hook to hold a big fish, but light enough to straighten if they get snagged, that's ideal to me. Quote
camman Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I use Buckeye J-Will heads and Keitech Fat impact swimbaits Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted December 24, 2017 Super User Posted December 24, 2017 I pour my own heads. I like to use 1/8 oz with a 3/0 hook. Like stated strong enough to hold a good fish but light enough to bend when hung up. I normally use flukes but sometimes paddle tails. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 24, 2017 Super User Posted December 24, 2017 Admittedly not an A-Rig expert by any means - I use different heads - usually targeting Smallmouth. For deeper applications I like the VMC Flat Shad Jig Head - And for shallower deals I like the VMC Boxer Jig Head ~ Both feature a Premium 1X strong needle point hook and fit the swimbaits I use nicely. CroakHunter Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Check out shanes baits. He makes 1/16th ounce heads and some of the lightest a-rigs out. Good if you don't have a dedicated big rod to throw them on. Quote
