Best thing about January is that the new fishing shows come back on TV.  And the funnest to watch is MLF!  I tell you, when its 20 degrees out or less in January and February, there is nothing more fun than watching MLF for a few hours on the weekend.  I can't wait!

Here's the TV schedule:

My first prediction  - Ish Monroe finishes last every round he's in because all he will use is a top water frog!

I'm always pulling for good ol' Shaw Grigsby saying, "Come on man, get going!  Get going!  Catch those fish!" Then I get disappointed. lol.

I did read though that they've changed the minimum size from 12" to 1 lb.

I just started watching MLF reruns past few weeks from summer, they are on Lake Eufala in AL and I am hooked, I taped final and will watch today.

I can't wait for January, I will tape and watch on playback so I can keep stopping and rewinding to wrestle every morsel and tidbit of info I can.

Is there a good spot I can go to see schedule of when all fishing shows/tourney's on TV?

Can't wait to see the big guns bomb. lol.  That's the great thing about the show.  We get to see the "Pros" strike out.  Not that I'm pulling for them to bomb, but it shows it like it really is.  I think that is one of the main reasons MLF is one of the top outdoor shows.  I read MLF was the highest rated show on Outdoor Network.  I also noticed that Discovery Channel is airing the series Saturday mornings.

My favorite segment is the Sheli Sanders report...

She used to do commercials for a local car dealership in my area. The first time I saw her on MLF I was surprised to see her. I thought she was some local actress who did local gigs, but after seeing her on MLF I'm guessing my local dealership had some professional company do it.

I'm just wondering what Chris Lane was swinging at in the beginning? I'm thinking they were small fish. Not sure if they were sunfish or just small bass?

What channel are you watching this on, the Discovery channel on Verizon Fios didn't show it today?

I pay $120 just for cable tv and its a rip-off. But, unfortunately, in my town the cable company has a monopoly. No other competitors means they can charge what they want.

Ugh,  so many times I watch MFL and yell at the TV screen - "Put on some eight or six pound mono on a spinning reel and Texas-rig a Yum-Dinger! Spinning reels are not just for a drop-shot!"

Not a bad opening round though.  Not the best and not the worst.

Over the course of last year and this first episode this season Fletcher Shryock has grown on me. He seems like a really down to earth cool guy, and he takes time to explain things.

I don't know what's up with the Lane brothers and their tempers. From Bobby snapping rods over his know to throwing undersized fish over his shoulder last season to Chris throwing a temple tantrum and slapping his rod on the water on this episode, it isn't a good look at all. I really like both of them Bobby has had some good episodes last season and explained things as well. I just wish they'd get their tempers under control.

That's true. Russ is the only one i can't remember ever loosing his cool. That lake looked like a flippers paradise, so many bushes it was crazy. Can't believe no one caught one over 4# though

Yeah, Shryock was good at explaining things.  Also, the Lane brothers might have tempers but at least we got to see one cry about always finishing last whenever he's in one of these events.  lol.  More reasons why this TV series is the best.
