Porkrind Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 So you get fifty bucks for Christmas. Not to much not to Little. What do you buy? Why? Me? I go stupid and order skirts for the jigs I make. 2 Quote
Dorado Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Seibert Dredge Brush Jig Set - 2018 is the year of the jig and I’m going to force myself to fish it with confidence Seibert Fogy - because bladed Jigs catch fish year round and I’ve heard positive reviews and I’m digging the colors. Keitech Swing FAT Impact 3.8” - various colors to match new swim Jigs I bought this year. 3 Quote
Super User Angry John Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 I would pick up an swaiver or two because they caught me some good fish lately and some 5 or 6xd;s because why not... 1 Quote

thinkingredneck Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Similar situation for me. Caught a Lamiglass bass rod, 7'3"MH F on sale for $49! Upgrades my MH rod selection. 1 Quote
GrumpyOlPhartte Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 I got a fifty-buck gift card ... needed a new pinion gear for a reel and after ordering that I found myself with $42.00 left over. Since I have decided to expand my limited fishing skills to include jigs and finesse fishing, I ordered a half dozen jigs and some shakey-heads. I figure I could get a few of each to get started without being assaulted by the Bait Monkey. I think of it as “forced self-control”. 1 Quote
thinkingredneck Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Enjoy. I am starting to get addicted to jigs, myself. And worms, and spinner baits and....Merry Christmas 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 I need some new tube heads , hook tail plastic worms , 3\4 ounce Red Eye Shad's , 17 lb test trillene , 1 Quote
GrumpyOlPhartte Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 @thinkingredneck: yeah, I hear you!! That, in my opinion, is the beauty of a gift card. Since I have trouble with jigs this time of year - they really skip well across the ice but don’t punch worth a hoot - I figure I can slowly accumulate the stuff I need (OK ... want!) without incurring the wrath of my hausfrau. Worms for T-rigs are checked off my list, now my introductory effort to jigs is covered. Next is hooks and weights, then new line ... and on and on! Dreading the selection of new line for my different rod/reel combos!!! Anyway, by spring I will definitely be all ready and organized. 1 Quote
Porkrind Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 I don’t believe there is a wrong answer out there. This is a broad enough question that anyone and everyone can answer. In the winter I just kinda meander around kicking rocks, piddling, and making jigs. Quote
Porkrind Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 Line is a good one that I haven’t even given a second thought to but I like that. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 Sounds like just enough to buy my 2018 fishing license and a pack or two of Senkos. 4 Quote
Porkrind Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 That’s pretty genius if you need one. Great ideas guys keep them coming. I know many of us out here will get money or gift cards for Christmas. Quote

Super User senile1 Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 I would probably use it to help replenish any lures, line, hooks, weights, etc. that I have used up. 1 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 I have this dilemma right now with a use anywhere gift card. I am going to hold onto it for any great sales I come across when we are out and about, and instead of thinking if I only had the cash, I will now. Worst case I use it to supplement the TW gift cards I got when cashing them in during one of their sales. 1 Quote
Porkrind Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 I’m thinking about buying my son his first baitcaster Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted December 23, 2017 Super User Posted December 23, 2017 $50 gets me just about a full tank of gas which might get me three round trips to some of the best SMB fishing in SE Mass..... I'll take it! 1 Quote
