I don't have either one but I do run Lowrance products.  I'd go for 480 pixels for a better pic depending on how you use the unit.  If you night fish, the X125 has an amber back light for $100 more.

The other eagle which was same price, has 480pixel, but rest of feature was same as the x-92. That was different between eagle and lowarance the eagle had 480 pixel where lowrance had 320 or something.

first off lowrance, eagle same thing-almost. the only differences i can see is the lowrance has networking capabilities and a built in flasher mode. price difference is about $50 for a similar unit. I have used the fishmark 320 for about 3 years and my only complaint is the lack of power. I loose bottom in thick weeds it tells me how far to the tops of the weeds. but other than that a great unit. I actually like the 320 because it is a little more bold than the 480 and shows up better in sunlight with out sacrificing clarity plus it is about $40 cheaper. next unit I buy will have more power I would say a minimum of 2400 watts and at least 320x320 pixels. a bigger screen would be nice but then you really spend some $$$$.

They seem very similar feature wise.  I would go with the 480 for the added resolution.  If you could see them in person that may persuade you one way or the other.  Do you have a BPS nearby?

I don't have the Lowrance, but I do have that Eagle Fishmark 480 and love it.

However... Night fishing with it isn't the best. It could do with better visibility for night fishing.

Eagle and Lowrance do use many of the same parts (and transducer cables). Both are good quality, but you might pay a hair more for the lowrance name.
