padon Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 So I know how effective the A rig can be in fall.the question I have is does anybody fish it successfully in pre spawn or summer? I was just wondering like in summer when the fish don't seem to be responding on the deep weed lines and I see schools of shad I just think man those fish must be on those shad schools.the only ways I can think of approaching this is with the a rig a swimbait or maybe a flutter spoon. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 16, 2017 Global Moderator Posted December 16, 2017 Pre-spawn, absolutely. Never had any luck during the summer though. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 16, 2017 Super User Posted December 16, 2017 I really don't know why, but The Rig is worthless in the summer. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Not always the best option but if they're actively chasing bait fish it will work no matter the season, here in FL at least. Caught some on it on ledges this yr in 20+ ft. I prefer cranking, swimbaits and c-rigs in the summer out deep though. Quote
