Finished mounting my maxxum on  the boat.  Happy to to say that it is pretty easy work the right tools.  For me that was  long screwdriver with a racheting wrench duct taped to it.

The cover still fits perfectly, so I am happy-happy!

Gotta give a thumbs up to Tracker boats for releasing the Bass Tracker Classic as a follow up to the Heritage. I like the motor upgrade and if you were not a fan of the brown carpet then perhaps gray is your color. :)

I couldn't walk out of Bass Pro shops without putting a deposit down on one a few weeks ago and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival (estimate was 12-14 weeks but we all know it may be longer). For me, and I will state again "for me" because I know opinions vary, it has everything I want for me and my son to get out there fishing at a price a working man can afford.

Anyone else out there order one? I hear some folks are taking delivery from earlier orders so I'd love to hear from anyone about their boat when they get it and their maiden voyage. Tight Lines!

I climbed around in one on the showroom a few weeks ago, i really liked the lay out and for a smaller boat it sure seemed sturdy. I would err on the side of caution in really rough water especially in that boat (16ft?). It sure seemed like it would be a good boat for two people to fish in and be comfortable. Good luck and i hope you have fun in it!

Agreed that construction and layout are excellent. Rough water would not interest me in the least and the lakes I fish are typically pretty calm so no issue there, I definately wouldn’t hit the pacific in it lol!

They told you 12-14 weeks? I was told 6-8 weeks when I ordered one.

I hope you are correct, perhaps they were playing it safe, ordered it two weeks ago.

I know I’m late but I just bought my heritage. I’m in central S.C. and will use on small ponds and Lake Wateree. I hope you long time users like the boat. Was I lucky to get a “left over”?

Congratulations @Cullum44

I love my boat.  I am looking forward to getting a lot of fishing on it in my second year.  I'm about to do all of the service and more upgrades.

Just fish and enjoy your boat.  We are happy to have you on the forums.  Ask any questions and post anything you can.  We need to see pics of your new toy!

I know this is the Heritage thread but with my Classic on the way and the fact that they are basically the same boat I just wanted to thank everyone for all the info on this thread. Can’t wait until my boat shows up and I can make some upgrades like some have. With our lakes here in NorCal getting nice and full I’m excited about the spring!

Welcome @FreeDivr

Yeah, same boat and no need for another thread.  Hopefully more classic owners come in and we keep this thing going for a very long time.

Finally an evening with no rain, so I will try to get my fish finders wired up... That is if I do not take one of the kayaks fishing this evening.

Since they’re the same boat I’ll see if I can change the title to incorporate the Classic to try and draw more of that crowd in.

What’s the proper name for the new boat?

There I talked with @J Francho and he changed the title for you guys to include the new Classic so hopefully it’ll bring new members to Bassresourse and more traffic and ideas to this thread. ?

Ok that’s perfect! I had started a thread two days ago for Classic so if a mod wants to delete it no worries, this is such good info and a great site!

Can’t wait to get out there Jaime, Berryessa is full and calling my name. We need to hit the delta too! I think these boats will do just fine out there as long as it’s not super windy. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the trolling motor? I do wanna upgrade but hope to make it work for a bit.

These will handle the delta just fine, we don't have to worry much about the tide and bottoming out.  I'm happy that Berryessa is getting water because it is very low in many of my spots.

The edge works as it should for the boat.  I didn't have any issues with anything it was supposed to do.  Even in the wind, kicking it up to 5, I was always able to get moving...

With that said, the wind really kicks this boats tail.  Will I would love to upgrade to an ultrex, you really get all you need with that motor.  Spot lock would work well fishing open water in Berryessa.  I upgraded my edge to the Maxxum mainly for more power and efficient power draw off of the batteries.  I never ran out of battery, but I was always concerned.  All of Conn Dam/Lake Hennessy and parts of San Pablo reservoir have gas or all electric motor restrictions.  With this new motor, I can fish those places a little harder as the fishing is good there.

Jaime, I know you got a maxxum but regarding the transducer question with the I pilot powerdrive. I took the boat out today for some pre pre spawn recon, and since I can’t use my bow mounted sonar with the new motor yet, I discovered two alternatives. 1.) I noticed I can steer the boat with the remote from the back of the boat and just watch the console sonar, and 2.) the console sonar is on a rotating base so I could spin it all the way around and just turn my head back to read depth and bottom contour. It’s a little strange not having a foot pedal, but once you’re used to it it’s pretty convenient. The remote is just as responsive. Also the spot lock keeps you on a dime.

@Zigkx

Thanks for the feedback... Believe me, I'm kinda jealous of the spotlock. I have have not used a bow trolling motor without a cable and I am so used to the direct response of the cable.  I am always trying to fish from the back of the boat and I would love to do just what you are doing.

I am rigging my boat up as I text...  I put a stabilizer on the maxxum and I  have it wired.  I am not looking up my new fish finders and my panoptix livescope.  I am in a conundrum with how I want to rig it up... I think I will put it on the trolling motor... I know I will eventually run it separately on a alluminun or PVC tube... But it's just the hiding everything... I will put the black box under the deck in the storage.  I am cutting an access door now.

For you, I have seen many transducer poles that you can use sans trolling motor.  I will eventually go to this if I just get tired of dual purposing the trolling motor and live scope

Just visited san antonio for sons air force bmt graduation(honor grad) and went to my first bass pro shops ever.Asked salesmen some questions I've had for a while. He told me the reason for transom plate is for the 50hp.plate allowed them to put 50 on it and thats why classic uscg plate says max 50hp same as 170 also or thats his teory anyway.they really did not have any answers to most of my questions.also noticed that the 50hp on classic does not appear to have same flo torque hub because it does not have play like ours does.did just recieve my orange tm prop nut from bobs machine, sure is pretty.recently installed fold down cleat midship that i can reach from drivers seat and 4ft bungy rope.So much easier to deal with.
