Dropping my boat off Saturday morning.  I will tell them to seal the live well drain as that is the only place unless the hull has a leak.  They are also gluing the carpet down.  We have a wedding to go to Saturday and maybe I will take the kayak out on sunday… I will miss my boat... sobs).

I guess will have time to edit my videos :)

So what will they do?  Fill the boat with water?  Haven't had a drop of water in mine however I have been looking everywhere to see where a leak might form...

Added new lights to my FJ mainly because I fish in the evenings and leave the ramp at night.  One night I didn't leave until 1AM.

The lights work great for backing down the ramp and putting things away once the boat is off of the trailer.

Anyone add new cleats mid-point on the boat?  I want to add one starboard side by the console, but I'm not sure where to port.  With out going through the hull, the only good place would be on the edge of the forward deck :dontknow:.  It seems more often than not, I tie up on the port side.  I've been looking at these cleats :headscratch:

As I'm enjoying the wonderful summer weather, staring at the lake, thinking what a wonderful day to have a boat (doh!  August 5th is way to far away!  I'm dying here!)....

How are the batteries wired on the stock boat?  I'm assuming they are wired so both will charge off the motor's alternator, but one should never assume.

Thinking about getting an onboard charger and then I was thinking I may want to get a batter combiner and just get a lower cost single bank charger and let the combiner take care of the other battery.  I had a Yandina Combiner 100 on my Proline 190 and it worked great, never had a dead or low battery during the season.

But, since I don't have my boat yet, I can't go look at how it's wired.  Doh!

The motor is only connected to the cranking battery.  I'm not filmimliar with a battery combiner but you would have to run the motor quite a bit to recharge the battery. The lakes I fish are are small enough or restricted so I will not be running high enough RPM to add charge back into the system. I use a bass pro 2 bank charger so far it has worked great.

The standard setup is the cranking battery is the only battery connected to the motor.  You generally don't get enough charge from the motor to keep the battery fully charged, so a charger is a must.  I would not recommend the combiner linked.  You do not want the cranker and the deep cycle wired in parallel.  A two bank charger keeps both charged and isolated.

Update.  So my dealer did not find a leak.  I will still check around the live well drain.

The main issue for me now is the bulging carpet on the edges of the bow and the lower deck.  Tracker says they have never seen this.  There is some stripping on the edge of the carpet that the carpet is on.  It is not sticking down.  Is anyone else having issue with their carpet?

Jaime, dealer could not find a leak when I took mine either. They just put water in it and said no leak.. I knew it was leaking it was full of water when I took it out. I took it home tilted the boat as far forward as jack would tilt it towards the bow. I filled it with water and bingo started pouring water around live well fitting. I think they didn’t tilt boat forwards and they were only looking at fittings at the back. You may want to try this on yours, it does take a bit of water to get up to the fitting.

Jaime, I've been following this forum since December.  I haven't posted anything but I enjoy reading about everyone's modifications and ideas.  I picked my heritage up at the manteca bps in February.  I was the 3rd one delivered.  The boat had been great up until last weekend.  I went to pull it out to take it out on the delta. I keep it covered and under an awning. I noticed all of the bubbling carpet in mine aswell as soon as I took the cover off.  I was bothered by it but I wasn't going to let it ruin my day of fishing.  I knew there was no one at bps to help me at the time so I figured we'll fish and I'll call them on Monday.  We launched, idled out of the marina,  and then i went to give it gas and she started bogging down.  My motor had about 9 hrs on it, normal full throttle is around 5400rpm but I couldn't get it past 4200. I called bps on Monday and "the warranty guy" bernard said to bring it in Saturday morning and he will have it looked at. Hopefully they can't fix it and it doesn't take to long. Also I noticed the panel on the rear deck that the seat is mounted on is loose. It's the label in between the rear storage compartment and the battery storage. U can see the seam through the carpet and it flexes when u step on it.  They are going to look at that as well. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Congrats and we are neighbors.

Man,  I originally placed my order at Manteca in Dec...  I moved it to Dixon since they are closer to me... I will be in Manteca tomorrow and will go to BPS... I thought about bringing my boat, but I don't know yet.  Going down for a family event.  I will be skipping out and planning some things to do.  You know of a good gun range there or should I bring the boat.  I got home late this evening and took the boat all the way to berryessa and did not launch.  It was aready 9 pm and they are giving tickets to people after  10 at the launch I wanted to go to.  All the other pay sights wanted to reserve the space for people who will purchase 3 day passes for the holiday.  Just bummed me out.

Back to topic.  The rear seat in mounted on wood while the rest of the deck is aluminum.  I am not having issues with my rear seat mount... But I only use it when my wife is with me.  I will post pictures of my carpet issues... Can you please post pictures of yours?  They are questioning because I installed stuff on my boat.  It has NOTHING to do with what I installed.  They backed down when I showed them the lower deck that was coming up.  Thankfully they gave my boat back to me while they waiting for instructions from tracker.  I do see the outline of the deck where the rear seat is.  My carpet has come unglued in the rear storage hatch.

I also had them run the engine.  They said it was normal. I did take it out  the day before dropping it off and I did not get my normal top speed... We are talking about 5mph or so.  It was drastic like you are thinking.  I wish I would have put a counter on the motor,

Great idea.  I will do it this week end.  I was ticked off today.  When they filled it with water, my gear in the storage deck was soaked.  They did not open the hatches to let anything dry.  Man.

Jaime, I'm at bps right now. Filling out the paperwork. They took pictures and sent them to the warranty dept.  They're going to give me a call on Tuesday to give new a status update. Let's see how it goes.  There's the san Joaquin rifle pistol range in Linden, ca.  That's the closest.  I only shoot on private land.

I stopped by BPS today.  the staff in Manteca is the best I have encountered in California and Arkansas. I don't remember how they were in Missouri. People make sure that when you use your VIP discount that the discount is actually apply to your receipt. My discount card is in the system and valadin to 2020, but boat tracker in Rockland and now Manteca's system says that the car does not exist. But when customer service looks it up they can find it. I made a few purchasing Rockland and the discount was applied and I didn't realize until later. The manager Jackson and his staff Destiny and Christina really really take care of me and they made sure I got all my money back as well as any other past receipts that I didn't even have they looked it up.

Yeah I belong to the Richmond Rod and Gun Club. We have access to private land in Fresno. whenever I go back to Arkansas I take a few guns or use some guns that I have out there and shoot on our private hunting land. Thanks again

I noticed small bubbles in my carpet on the side wall .when I received my boat but when you whipped your hand across the would disappear aka stick back down, so I didn't think much of it. Now the carpet on the floor next to the rod holder opening has come up.was thinking of just using some carpet adhesive I have laying around to repair myself.

I have not had any issues with my outboard but I fish small water and will not run wide open most are no wake.

Mine started off sticking back down, now it's just up.  We are planning to just add more glue with a needle to avoid raising the carpet.

Jaime,  I'm an avid waterfowl hunter as well as a fisherman.  I'm good friends with a few farmers in the area that allow me to use their land for plinking around, shooting clays, and some dove and goose hunting. As soon as this boat situation is figured out and my boat is fixed. Id love to invite u down to here fish the delta. We've been killing em with frogs, whopper ploppers, and  white swim baits lately.

As for the carpet Mindspread, I'd report it to ur dealer.  U have a warranty. We all have pay a lot of money for these boats.  I understand that there is going to a few flaws with them but if it's still under warranty tmbc should fix it. That's just my opinion.

They are not going to see my boat until fall, unless the hull starts peeling like a banana or the engine blows up.   Last time I was in there they had a wait time of 3-4 weeks ?.

Jmckinly, That would be awesome man.  I was driving on 12 Saturday and I was sure thinking about fishing in the delta.  I have not fished there in years.   I have never taken my kayak out there either.  I know frogs are king out there this time of year.  It would be nice to have a pro show me around.  I could fish the delta just as fast as I get to Berryessa.  I need to start going out there.  Any tips on tide, using my boat in the brackish water, etc.  I have maps and gps so I wont get lost... hopefully.  I use to fish around bacon island and whiskey slough as well as some places in Rio Vista.  They day we go out, lunch or dinner is on me!

Yeah, I hate being away from my boat, but I will get it all fixed while I can.  Gone Fishin in Dixon has my new hubcaps and steering wheel caps on order and will fix the carpet when tracker tells them how the carpet is layed down.

I wish I would have know this, but hopefully it will help some of you all now and all of us in the future.

When you use a gift card at Bass Pro, you will NOT receive any points for your purchase.  Thing is, you do get points for buying a gift card.  This is true for partial purchases.  So the trick, as told to me by a Bass Pro Rep, is to buy another gift card first.

So you have $25 gift card.  Your purchase is $50, buy another $25 gift card.  This way you will get the points for what you would be paying in cash.  Substitute any values you can.  This might even work for double/triple point days when you are not even buying anything.  Get the points and buy a gift card... You will eventually use it :)

Another thing, MAKE SURE YOUR VIP CARD WORKS!  I had to go to Bass pro to get all of my savings back on one major purchase.  Don't leave money on the table.

I just received my $25 minnkota rebate yesterday.... That was so fast.  Kinda off topic, but I just purchased some new tires and I got the $200 rebate back yesterday... Less than 4 weeks.  What to buy now?! :D

Hey gang.  Here is are a couple of just completed projects.  First up is my portable work light / fishing light.  When I fish at night, I my eye usually adjust well enough, but I wanted something to light sides up that was portable and not installed.

This unit is  can be is anywhere.

My second project was to add spotlights to the boat.  Once again, I was still not comfortable selecting a location to spermanently add lights until I was sure of location and necessity.

My solution is not entirely original, but for me it was very inexpensive. The navigation lights are upgraded and work the same turn on/off the same way as stock.  I still have the courtesy light, but mine is so much brighter. It powers on independently using a button on the unit. Last but no way least are the spotlights.  They are 36watts combined.  They power on independently using a button on the unit. They also power on and off using a wireless remote. this way if I'm on the steering wheel and I put the switch for navigation I can still turn the headlights on without having to go to the deck and pressing the button.  This solution allows me to have all I want and need without haveing to run wires.

That's nice :sun:!  Have you considered another color for your courtesy light to help preserve your night vision?

Darkness makes me sleepy,  so I don't fish at night :sleep-038:.

Quick update on my boat.  Had bps check out motor,  they said they ran it at the shop with no issues,  took it to the water and ran it with no issues.  They determined that it may have been the elevation of the lake I was at.  It is about 6200ft above sea level.  Where I live is at sea level.  They saidwhat I described a's the problem sounded like an air to fuel imbalance.

Also,  warranty dept.  Came back with authorization for a complete re carpet.  They don't do it in house and the upholstery shop they use is booked till August 9 th.  So I'm going to pick it up today and take it to upholstery shop on the 9 th. They said it's going to take about 2 weeks I should have it back no later than the 24 th of August.  But apart I'll b able to fish until then.
