I'm pretty sure the electronics are wired to the cranking battery, and may be the cause. I can tell because two days ago I added another troll battery in parallel and those Batts hardly budge in voltage. Any thoughts? Im sure you had that connected when it was all hooked up. I uncovered my boat one time and the fish finder was on. Now I unplug it every time i come back. the trolling motor as well when storing between trips. Quote

Does require a separate / additional bank on the charger though. A-Jay I did get a three bank specifically for that reason. The technician at the dealer said the motor should do a decent job charging the crank battery, but doing the math with the alternator output, you'd have to run the motor a very long time for any decent charging. You got bad info ~ Incorporate your cranking battery into your charging system & be done with it. A-Jay Quote
Mindspread Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Your charger should have a specific leg for the cranking battery. This should be connected to that battery only. The other two legs can be hooked to your deep cycle batteries. If you only have one leg for deep cycle you will not get a full charge on both batteries. The motor will work the same as a car it will not put out a charge unless you run above a specific RPM. Quote
Mindspread Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Since the boat does not come with an hour meter, I ordered this one from Amazon. This will make it much easier or even possible to track the number of hours on the motor. For those of you that may not know this is an inductive hour meter it keeps track of running hours by the firing of the spark plug. I just have to remember to add around 2.5 hours for the first run in that the meter was not on the motor. Quote

I used it before I installed a meter on the dash. Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted May 31, 2018 Author Global Moderator Posted May 31, 2018 Looks like sale will be way down on the Pro 170 for a little while. Screw up of the year there. LOL Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 31, 2018 Super User Posted May 31, 2018 Where did that ad come from? LOL, 170 is a 50 hp max. In fact, 115 is the max for for their mod V models. Quote
BaitinBayou Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 The small 1/8" tube running from the transom to the console is for a future speedometer for those who were wondering. Has anyone else had any small problems? my horn went out first, if I unbolt it and tap on it it'll blow and then die out, tested the power and it is good. Also my cranking battery tie down strap broke on the clip were they snap together. I replaced the horn with a ooga horn ($9.99 harbor freight) and replaced the battery strap with BPS battery/fuel tank strap ($10.99) and it is 100x's stronger due to having metal buckles instead of plastic. Ive put 60+ hours on this thing so im not really complaining. 1 Quote
Zigkx Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 That’s the price of a pro team 195. Has to be a mistake somewhere Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 31, 2018 Super User Posted May 31, 2018 Actually, a 195 TXW w/ a 150 is $25,595. Quote

Hez Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 You don't think that brand new 150 4 stroke is jacking up the value? $17,000 for the motor - $10,000 for hull and accessories? Although...I have not read the fine print. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 31, 2018 Super User Posted May 31, 2018 I'm talking about the misprint. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 31, 2018 Super User Posted May 31, 2018 I'd rather take a Nitro Z18 for $2K more. Quote

I replaced my battery straps also, I couldn't get them tight. One small problem I have is the front seat base clicks loudly when I lean back in it. I mentioned this when I took it in for the fuel pump inspection. They said I could wait until fall to take it in, so they don't have the boat tied up for 2-3 weeks now, and miss any time on the water. My only other problem is I'm not in the boat enough . Quote

Yeah I know I could have but I rather "upgrade" the parts so it wont happen again. I did think about getting a new stock horn from them to have as backup though. I had the same problem with the straps not getting very tight too, the new one will tighten up good though, I should have changed them ahead of time like you did. 1 Quote
