It makes a solid click sound when snapped together. In your picture there is a slight gap in the connection. Just more info to put on the pile. Quote
Tap tap Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Some info on hub caps. I lost one halfway home from BP. After a few calls the manager said they would replace it. I called Tracker corporate customer service and was told they are aware of the issue and will be sending out a bulletin to dealers. So it appears that lost caps will be replaced in near future. The rep also stated the cap supplier is working on a new design. Quote

I've had mine come loose when I was working in that area.  I just checked mine and it looks the same. I had mine come apart after I first got it, but I was messing around with everything and figured it was my fault. If anyone does start to mess with this connection, have a rag ready. You will drain the lines of gas when it comes apart .   I also have that small gap between the connectors. When I push it closed and it opens to that small gap again. I can pull on it, and it stays together, so I don't know. No leaks...so far so good .  Kind of like a lot of things on this boat, it's not perfect but getting by .    Quote

I tried to squeeze the connectors together but like you, it goes out a little. I still wonder if this is the issue or not. Quote

SeriousBlack Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Ok, I got the recall today. This explains the issue well.. except for the minor spell check error  Quote
Tap tap Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 A few thoughts for those waiting on the Heritage. While there have been an issue with hub caps and an unrelated to the actual boat, fuel system recall for some from Mercury, I personally feel the boat is still in very good standing. It is stable, has a very good top speed, all materials appear to be of good quality and it is a great value. Is it a $60,000 boat? No. But be assured it is a quality boat that most fish won't be able to detect the difference. Something else, if you purchase anything of significant value it's good to have a community (like this) of consumers to communicate any issues and compare notes. STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! To all, check in occasionally to see what's happening. Tracker and Mercury seem ready to resolve issues so far. 1 Quote
StapleNut Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Anyone look at shallow water anchors for the Heritage? Its pretty light so I was looking at a Power Pole Micro on the transom and if it spins in the wind another on the front bow later on. Its significantly cheaper than a Minn Kota Talon and adding hydraulic spider legs is not my cup of tea. Quote

ratman Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Was getting noise from lower unit last time I was out.Took it in today, had water in gear lube and chunks of metal.Just waiting to see if mercury is going to replace with new one or make them tear it apart.I have never touched lower unit on anything and just had 20 hr. service done.Just bad luck I guess.Good news is my fuel pump has blue dot so it does not need replaced.Back to fishing from shore for a while. 1 Quote

I was just told by the dealer to bring mine in. It takes 5 minutes to see if the fuel pump was already taken care of by the factory. He said about 75% were already taken care of. Quote

Took my Grandson along telling him nothing about the boat, he thought we were shopping for tackle. Walking into BPS he said, "im going to get a shopping basket just in case."After signing paperwork for the boat I brought him through the service department for the big surprise. Just before opening the door going outside where the new boat was waiting, I told him he might need a larger shopping basket! Thats awesome and something he'll never forget!! Quote

Never had mind come off.   Have you all checked your fuel pump for a blue dot? If it has a blue dot, the recall dose not pertain to you.  1 Quote

Bolar Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018  You should give your dealer a call.  They might have to check you off for warranty purposes.  Maybe they will accept a photo? Quote
