Can you define what you mean by down to the coast? Inlets and rivers would probably be OK safety wise ( wear your PFD) on calmer days, never out side off shore. Afterwards wash everything down and flush the motor. Given a choice though I won't run my aluminum boat in salt water and I have it 5 minutes from my house. 1 Quote

Honestly it would be very rare occasions this would happen if ever. Was just curious if the boat can actually handle the corrosive nature of salt water or not, or if it should be avoided all together. Quote
Tim64 Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Does anyone know about how before boat is delivered you will get serial number? Also, does registration get done by BPS or will I need to go to DEM? Quote
Goldstar225 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 The way the boat is registered varies by state. In my state it's the owners responsibility to do the legwork. (My dealer offered to take care of it for $200.00 for what was a 15 minute task for me). I understand that in some states the dealer submits the paperwork. Quote

If I didn't wash it down after every trip I'd have salt crystals stuck all over it. Electrical connections, switches would corrode much faster, etc. Things like that Quote

It took me just over a month to get the paperwork from Tracker to register my boat. In fact I went yesterday to get everything set with the state. In the old days I would have walked out of the BMV with a plate, tax stamp and numbers . Now everything is mailed, and I wait again. Quote

Wow, that sucks. When I bought my PT 190 earlier this year I had the paperwork in hand when I left with the boat. I can imagine the aggravation. Quote

"D" Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 It sure has been quiet on the forum for a while... I guess a lot of you have got your boats and are out on the lake. For the one's still waiting like me I got some new information from BPS today. First the good news, for me anyway, is that they have delivered 4 boats at my BPS. That makes the next one to come in mine. The interesting news was that my boat is still scheduled for May 9th, but the boat in front of me that was scheduled for May 8th arrived last week. Bottom line seems to be that Tracker is building them faster than they have them scheduled to be built. I was told that the heritages are showing up regularly now and that they don't get any warning at the BPS until the shipment arrives at their store. Quote

Of course there were no lines since I did it on purpose during a snow storm. I got my trailer registered by the town. Quote
Bolar Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Today is suppose to be the best day of the weekend. I stole away some time this morning to try out a new lake by me. It's still COLD . Lower 40's, I was using a hill by the shore as a wind break. I had fun anyways... 6 Quote

I had a one and he jumped off when he got close to the boat. I guess he wanted to check out the new boat . I bought a 12lb river anchor and I'm really liking that. I was a little worried it might not be heavy enough, but it worked out great with a steady wind. Quote

Went out of town to New York, new Jersey, and made a stop by Atlantic City. Drove by a few bass pro, but did not stop. We actually did good at Atlantic City, so I can get more junk or a nice payment on the boat, lol. For the boat, my got my new but seat and power pedistal. My wife has been blocking me from fishing saying I am not home... I'm like, well I'm not fishing either. I plan to go this weekend. 1 Quote
MCGZAC Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 My boat has arrived! I placed my order the second week of January and got the call from Tracker March 20th. I’ve been quietly watching this forum since its creation. The information being shared has been really helpful in deciding to purchase and with researching upgrades, tips and tricks, etc. Thanks all for sharing. In Minnesota we got another 3 inches of snow overnight, so I’m stuck researching local lakes and boat upgrades. Has anyone opted to install a new console electronics unit with a ram mount, so that it can be spun around for viewing from the front casting deck? I plan to move the factory installed Lowrance to the bow, however that doesn’t help with GPS and mapping. I’m interested to hear what others have done. 1 Quote

I don't know so I'm asking...wouldn't it be more beneficial to have the bigger finder at the bow where you are fishing and driving the trolling motor? Quote
ratman Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 I sometimes get a squeal when throttling down from cruising speed, only happens sometimes has done it since beginning and have had it out 7 times now. Quote

I have been following this forum post since mid February when I started thinking about buying and it sounds like you will be loving it. I purchased my boat Mar 5th and just got off the phone with Tracker to get an update. I'm not scheduled to hit production until Oct 2nd so I won't be seeing it until November.... Seeing as I'm up in Wisconsin it is sounding like my Heritage won't be seeing the water until May 2019. What a wonderful purchase.... Enjoy your boat! Quote
SeriousBlack Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Arrived today to get my boat. Of course it had to snow. 3 Quote
