LOL

The positive thing is I haven't signed for it so I wouldn't be giving it back but I do hear what you were saying. Took all the wind out of my sails for sure last night as I had been waiting for it for so long and so excited it is here.  Yes I want them to fix it because I know how warranty works … never is their fault and they are always looking for an out.  Should hear back from my Tracker rep today as I also emailed him plus the business assistant that scheduled my appointment for Saturday.  Am going to be that squeaky wheel until they resolve it.  I don't have an issue waiting for it as long as I am comfortable with it when I sign.

Sorry to hear about the challenges regarding your new rig.

Point of interest -

This thread entitled " Tracker 40th ani. Heritage edition boat"  Just went over 40 Thousand Views.

It will most likely triple that is short order.

Unfortunately, the recent portion here is being highlighted by what looks like poor workmanship and perhaps some quality control issues -  perhaps not exactly the type of publicity Tracker's looking for.

Best of luck to you on a quick & painless resolution.

The sheer fact that they opened a closed factory in order to kick out product faster doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.  You would have to figure that new hires/temp workers with no to very little experience are working on them.  Everyones gotta start somewhere I suppose, its just not reassuring.  It is what it is though.  If mine comes in poorly welded/built, I'll walk out of there upset, but with 11K still in my pocket.

I live in Michigan and they told me Aug. Well the season is pretty much over here in Sept. so wait 5 months to fish one month! No thank you I bought a pro 170 off the floor. Yes I spent a bit more money but I am not going to miss any of the season waiting for my boat. Now if it would just stop snowing lol.

That's the thing... I know for a fact I could have been upsold.  There is no denying deal is real with the heritage boat.  The cover and Gift are is extra.  However, iwould have bought a 170 too.

This could like a bait and switch.  Why wait when I can get this one now.  The heritage made my mind up about getting a boat... So now I am getting a boat, it did not have to be the heritage, lol.  My wife really likes the retro look so we stayed on track... But she was on me all the time, when sit here bait coming.  I'm like, let's upgrade... She is like now I want that one.

I compared the heritage, 170, and others so much.  Congratulations on your 170.  There are things that you have out the gate that many of us heritage boat owners want!  Don't leave us though... We still have similarly the same boat and you had to make a choice based on conditions and environment.

Perhaps this thread could force them to fix the issues.

The new heritage is a good deal, that will help a lot of anglers own their first new boat.

let's hope it is turns out to be a good experience for all.

I hear you, but this is a small majority with issues.  Many of those viewing are lurking with boats or thinking of getting one.  One has to use good judgement, there are only two issues here.  One being a leak, that happens.  The weld is what we all fear... But thats the first I have seen online and I am in few places.

Hopefully some people know how to use discernment.  This is the same as any reviews online... Same product has good and bad reviews.  When you read the reviews people are, complaining that the sun wasn't shinning or they love it, yet just got it and never used it.

Even I am reluctant to give it a review.  I have it, but I have not used.  It has been in the garage, lol!

The quality control person must have been asleep to miss that. Kinda hard to miss. I’ll be going over mine with a fine tooth comb.

Its funny my wife was with me also when I went in there to order the Heritage when I was told Aug. she knew I would not wait that long lol. On the way out of Cabelas there was a 160 with a 25 and a red 170 with a 40, we looked at both boats. I could have been happy with either one but I liked the bigger gas tank and outside gas fill on the 170 better. The funny thing when I showed her the folding tongue on the 170 she said buy that one lol. After 45 years of being married to her I knew better than argue with her lol. Bottom line yes the heritage got me into the store and it is a heck of a deal on a heck of a boat. But I bought the 170 off the floor and pick it up Saturday.

Yeah l really would like a larger gas tank and a fill cap on the outside.  The 170 is a nice boat!  I am going to end up with 170 stuff, lol.

I do like the fact that although the heritage has a smaller tank and other things go, it is just about as open of a canvas as a ready to go/ready to board boat can be.  I can install a larger tank with ease.  The layout is open, so I can extend.  With the heritage, I can add just about anything without ripping or cutting it open.

This is the response I have gotten from the dealer ...

Good morning. Josh and the shop mechanic, and myself inspected the weld in question. We washed the weld in question. It was dirty. We inspected the weld it is solid. There is no hole in the weld. The boat comes with a Life Time warranty against any defect in all of the welds. The weld in question is not a defective weld. I think once you see the Cleaned weld you too will see nothing wrong. I am looking forward to delivering your New 2018 Tracker Heritage on Saturday.

Yes I am.  I will let you know when.  Most likely tomorrow.  I just spliced the old fish finder wire up and tested it.  It works.  The electrical tape is not where it was cut, but more to keep the loom in place and from unraveling.  My new fish finders are installed.  I am just trying to give the transducer block I installed as much time to cure inside the garage... I am sure it is ready to go.

I am just cleaning up the boat and trying to put all of my tools away.  Here are couple pics I took last night.  I am debating on the original charger location which was on they wall where the batteries are... Or on the transom where it is just hanging out...  Its not mounted here, just out of the way while I work.  I also have these seat stands laying around, so I thinking of making center console on it... Cup holders in coushion or cupholder and step.

I went a head and replaced the transom saver with the beefier one I bought.  You all can get one now for $10 https://www.westmarine.com/outlet/buy/west-marine--adjustable-motor-support-2-5hp-to-40hp--15958713?recordNum=22

On this boat I wouldn't want to put any electronics on the transom. It's exposed, no splash well, and with not much freeboard you will sooner or later take water over the transom. It's always best to put electronics (sealed or not) in a protected area.

I'd be mounting the charger in here.  Every single boat I've had located it here.  One boat even had it mounted to the lid.

That's how I plan to do my charger, also, I see a lot of pics with the tank mounted on the other side, but for weight distribution it should be on the port side.

Man,  you have to wait until Saturday.   That has to be crazy having that hang over you with the pick up!

well, I originally wanted to mount it on the side wall.  Just want to make sure I have room for my third battery.  I think I will move the tank too.  I see the gas sticker is on the side where the tank was... I want to put gas in on the same Side I do on the towing vehicle too!  Right now, I have it on a spacious block of wood.  even if I laidd it down, it can see the status lights.  Thanks for the help!

Thanks.  I was just thinking that since it is a waterproof charger, it would be ok if it got wet. Thanks for the sound advice!

Mounted my charger flat on  deck level below your original mounting spot.I don't feel it's a bad spot. Was also thinking about putting fuel tank on port side, but I drive boat and Iam 70 lbs heavier than my dad,and being used to knowing how to load a boat with 1000's of lbs of ice and fish I have not noticed any list.boat is very stable.

Dirt or no dirt. Look at the metal surrounding the rest of the weld. There's a difference. Where the "dirt" was. The bead did not penetrate the joint. It's a cold weld.

I ordered my boat 1-10-2018 picked it up today, at Bradford Marine inside Bass Pro in Little Rock. I got the two upgrade packages Big Catch #1 & #2 that include extra 6 gallon tank, clips for stern light, Pro Mariner 2 bank battery charger, spare tire & lock, Stainless steel prop, Mercury Vessel View Smart Craft, & Lowrance Hook 2 4x GPS Bow Fish Finder. I hope to have in water next week. I spoke to salesman advised me boats ordered today delivered in August.. I am very glad I ordered early.

They polished it. Take a look at the original picture. Do you see how there is an aura or a haze around the good weld and there is no aura or haze around the "dirty" area? Do you also see how the bead looks more "melted" or flowing around the good weld than the "dirty" area? That is a cold weld at that point. The bead did not penetrate the joint.

Ordered mine yesterday. Dealer said beginning of June. They only had 10 people on the list and said that a few of them have backed out so there is a chance i might get it sooner.  We will see. Are any of yall looking to get a stainless prop if so which one are you going with?  Cant wait to get this boat!

Thanks

Cody

I mentioned putting a stainless on mine and one of the guys at BPS suggested the Spitfire props for our motors. Stainless is nice, but if you hit something it might cause a problem in the gear case. With the motors we are running I’d bet those Spitfire props would be the ticket. I run a 4 blade stainless on my Bullet with a 150 hanging on the back but I’ll be putting a Spitfire on my new 40 after break-in since it’s a lower HP and save a bunch of $$ to sink elsewhere in my Heritage.
