165 to 170lbs, pulled them up with no problem. I did swap to more of a power prop to get better acceleration when fishing so that definitely helped too.

When I extend the deck, I am making a locker.  I will cut the whole section open where the rod tubs are to make a rod box.  That's my plan.  I would love to actually keep my long rods on the boat without worry.  

 

I think I will make the rod locker first... Still trying to decide how my extended deck will function... I like the idea for more storage, but I want to make a new livewell… I have the plumbing figured out, but not the size of cooler or if I want to make one out of something else... 

Please post some pictures when you are working on it, I'd love to make that change to mine too.

Will do.  Finally finished working on my network hub and actually purchased some wood for my deck.  I need to puchaed the aluminum for the frame... Very soon :)

Upgraded my trailer jack.  $50 at bass pro.   1000 lbs and galvanized.  Mine was getting wobbly.

I killed my starter battery yesterday.  Had to go back two miles plus on the trolling motor.  I was on it all day and it still got me home.  Minnkota Maxum 65lbs

You didn’t have a rope? If I had a dollar for every time I pull started my old V4 Johnson I could have bought a new motor.

 

I keep a set of jumper cables in my boat so I can start from the trolling battery if needed.

Here is the thing...I always take a portable lithium jump starter with with... Left it at home.  I was going to use the rope to start the engine, but I didn't have any tools with me to get the stupid cover off... Why is that cover bolted down?!  

 

It was really a time for all to go wrong...  I took my tools and the jumper out of my truck the previous day when I was working at the church... Didn't out anything back and would have had them as I take them with me on the boat. 

 

Today, I bought a kit just for the boat.  Not going to happen again.

Have you considered taking out the whole live-well console and rebuilding it with a bigger live-well?  I've seen a few people adding deck extensions but they come straight out and do nothing with the small live-well.

I did think about that, but not sure if I want to just yet.  But I have thought about it.  If I can sources another console in case I want to go back, I will chop mine up for sure.  Can really make it right then.  

 

I will make the old dry storage.  Thing is the deck storage that is already there.   If I put my batteries there, I need a way to get to it.  But with the livewell we have .. the main issue for me is length. It needs to be longer

Jaime I was wondering if your trick using the silicone to hold the hub caps on worked long term.  I have now lost two sets.

 My old Johnson didn’t have a cover. I removed the cover from my Yamaha when I discovered my battery was dead after a two hour drive to the lake and never put it back on. I keep a set of cheap wrenches and screwdrivers from Harbor Freight in my boat box and they have more than made up for their minimal cost by allowing me to fix issues that would otherwise have ended or severely impacted fishing trips.

Yes it has... Have not lost any since the first one.  The silicone is removable when you need to service the hubs.  I do not think about my hubs...  I just saw them the other day when I was cleaning the boat.  I like them and I never think about losing them.  I swing my boat around mountain roads without care

Nice.  I have been considering something similar.  I was looking at one of these consoles, but jeez the price!  Also, I think it would be about an inch short for a comfortable step.

Color matches pretty good I think, it’s textured too so non slip. Cheap DIY that is a nice addition! Magnetic strip for the pliers and maybe a bottle opener.

Cost me $40 to build, had to buy a four pack of cupholders because the two pack was out so you could shave even a little more off that price. Having only one cupholder in the boat was a no go so upgrade needed. The step is nice for the height challenged lol.

Looks good. I wonder if you wished you would have put a hinge on the top and had turned into additional storage ? Those magnet bars are great. I have2 in my (tin) boat.

Thought about it but I still have space in the main compartment so went without. It would be an easy addition.

Just put in an order for a Lowrance Elite 9 ti2. Really excited to get it in and get it on the boat. Going to do the install myself since I have some extra time right now. Going to be my first addition to the boat

Right on, congrats! I’m really glad I did the instal on my Garmin myself, it’s easier than you think and was some great garage time ??

So got the fish finder in, and after taking off the old transducer and unhooking electrical and everything I decided to go ahead and order a mounting plate. The transducer was supposed to fit in the same holes as the old one but the screws on the original were put in at an angle and I didn't like the look of it. So I am going to take a little extra time and wait on the plate to come in before I finish, I will probably go ahead and hook up the electrical so I'll have one less thing once the plate comes in.

Came down to Lowrance and Garmin for me. I compared the 2 for about a month, and it came down to money for me. If I bought the Garmin I would have ended up spending a lot more to upgrade to the Panoptix.

 

I really like the Lowrance and the Active Imaging looks great, I have a buddy that has it on his boat and it is awesome, also I could read the Hook I took off pretty well and had good luck while using it. The FishReveal is also a neat feature that I look forward to playing with.
