Alex LaFave Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Picked up my new ride this weekend down in Arkansas. Wife gave the blessing if i agreed to stop at Big Cedar Lodge/Tablerock lake for a few days on the way back! Boat is a 2018 tracker heritage. Purchased from original owner who sold after using it just twice for a total of 5.4 hours due to health issues. Boat is practically new. 8 Quote

Terrance Waters Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Congratulations, It's great that you found a heritage that's only been used a couple of times. It looks great! I know you'll enjoy it. 1 Quote

"D" Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 It's been quite a while since I visited the heritage site, it's good to see that it's still going. I've been enjoying the heck out of mine and not doing much web surfing. The biggest mod I've made is a Xi-5 trolling motor. It's a game changer when it comes to fishing in the wind and staying over structure. I don't ever want to go back to a trolling motor that doesn't have an anchor/spot lock function. Call me lazy, but I want to fish not worry about holding the boat in position. Â I put in the gateway network so that I could control it from my Ti-9 on the console. Dropping a cursor on structure and then using the depth finder touch screen to return to it without having to get up from the driver seat is awesome. I don't use the foot control at all, it stays at home and I do everything with the remote control around my neck. When I fish by myself I fish from both the front and the back platforms using the remote. Â The biggest thing I would like to change is rod storage. Has anyone come up with a better solution? Both for ease of use as well as security. Â I've looked at the classic with the 50, but I still think the original deal was the best for me. We've pulled kneeboards and wakeboards with the 40 with no issues. Bottom line is that I don't have any regrets with getting the heritage and not waiting. 1 Quote

When pulling the wake boards, how big were the individuals? It seems like that would be fun. Quote

Both for ease of use as well as security.   When I extend the deck, I am making a locker. I will cut the whole section open where the rod tubs are to make a rod box. That's my plan. I would love to actually keep my long rods on the boat without worry.   I think I will make the rod locker first... Still trying to decide how my extended deck will function... I like the idea for more storage, but I want to make a new livewell… I have the plumbing figured out, but not the size of cooler or if I want to make one out of something else... 1 Quote
Bolar Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I just picked up the R&R Design trolling motor tray. It's a nice tray, beefier than I expected. When it gets warm again, I'll start hacking into the deck.  Quote

NewBallCoach Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Has anyone fished a tournament in their Heritage/Classic. I have a few small tournaments around me and I'm thinking of doing one in my Classic. Any advice or anything I may need to upgrade, I already turned a big cooler into a livewell. Quote
Bolar Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 So I got the trolling motor tray and it has a drain hole that needs some attention. The tray uses 1/8" thick aluminum throughout, but that isn't thick enough to screw anything into. I didn't have any aluminum on hand that was thick enough to hold a fitting, so what I did was cut up some scrap I had on hand and laminated them together with some JB Weld.   Drill that out and tap 3/4". I know brass and bronze don't play well with aluminum so I found a PEX elbow that will work perfect.   A 3/4" hole in the tray is pretty big and I figure that I'll be dropping all sorts of stuff down there. To save some headaches down the road, I put in a hose filter.   Next I used my Dremel sanding drum (don't use a grinding wheel on aluminum) to remove the paint around the hole and rough up the area for the JB Weld to hold on to.   After that dries I hit the area with some black gas grill paint and I'm ready for install.   Now all I need is some warm weather to start cutting into my boat.   1 Quote
