Have you tried any blue locktite? I would gum it up with that stuff. It will at least give it more resistance. Quote

FreeDivr Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I have had good luck so far but earlier in this thread someone mentioned a rubber washer at the base of the post, when tightened down it eliminated loosening and noise, just a thought. 1 Quote
Happybeerbuzz Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I got my tracker back in October 2018, and it has been great.  This is my first boat. Recently, I pulled the plug out of my boat after about six hours on the water and about 5+ gallons of water gushed out when previously not a drop had spilled out in over a dozen trips. An experienced boat owner told me that while it seems like a lot of water, I am not close to sinking so don’t freak. Water sometimes gets in the boat.  That’s how it is. Next time I go out, it seemed that as much or more water got in the boat judging by the flow when I pulled the plug.  Same guy I talked to the first time was there this time and conceded that it was more than normal but if it was a leak, it was a very small one because, in the grand scheme 5 gallons of water or so isn’t the end of the world.   The next time I go out, I look down the back of my boat for water after about 3 hours. It’s bone dry. When I take the boat out of the water and pull the plug, it’s still bone dry. It’s the same for my last 3 trips out.  Anyone have any idea what I did to get water in my boat?  Both times water appeared, I fished a little later in the day to when the recreation boaters were on the water.  That is the only thing that is different, but I don’t recall any wakes large enough to come close to washing over the side of my boat. Quote

If outside is it possible it could be rain water? Quote

FreeDivr Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I’m gonna bet drain plug not seated properly, grab a new one, they are cheap, I always keep a spare in the boat too FYI. 2 Quote
Zigkx Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 If you slow down too suddenly water will definitely rush into the back of the boat. I noticed there’s always water in my live well. I’ve never used it nor turned on the pump. Driving in reverse shoving water into it from the pick up on the transom? 1 Quote

If she wants me to deal with something she sets it on the deck.  The only existing holes in the boat are two through the transom and the one just above the water line where the live well comes out (also the bilge, but it's high). If I remember correctly your deck should be a little wet under the drivers console if it's a hose on the live well. I would definitely check the plug hole and hose connection coming in for the live well. Check both from the outside, wiggle or spin, also to make sure they are properly attached "welded?" to the transom.  Other than an actual hole in the boat, I'm not sure what else to check for. Let us know how it goes. Quote
jaimeastin Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Do you use your livewell?  The livewell has an overflow drain that leads our of the drain, but anything that is above that will leak over and go to under the floor.  Going fast, then slowing down or stopping abruptly will allow the water rushing up from behind to cover the transom. I usually make a turn when I am coming to stop so that the water will not come to the back of the boat.  Drain plug... Well the ones that came with the boat are supposed to go from the inside out. I usually do not take mine off of the boat anymore. I use to get water in my boat, but lately it's been bone dry. 1 1 Quote

On the last occasion that I got water in the boat, my experienced boater friend reprimanded me for slowing down too fast because it is bad for the transmission.  It was a habit I just started prior to the problem and stopped after being warned. It probably isn’t a coincidence that water stopped getting in the boat.  Thanks guys. 2 Quote

On mine the space between the nut on the base and where the pedestal stopped was too far apart. The only right fix would have been new bases which would have been pulling up carpet and all that on a brand new boat. I took my pedestals to work and took an old pedestal and cut the threaded part off and added about a quarter inch in length and welded them back up. They work just fine but quite ridiculous to have to do this on a new boat or have them start pulling up carpet to fix. 1 Quote

I was at my first tournament and someone stole one of the trailers while the guys were fishing the tournament. So you need a lock for the trailer, the hitch and the spare tire. SMH  Now that I live in TN, I routinely see people leave their graphs on their boats parked in the dock My neighbor will leave just the screen door open at night so he can still get a breeze thru the house Meanwhile, I've got everything locked up, motion detector flood lights and cameras set up. Still cant shake the distrust of other people and thats pretty sad  Also awesome job getting the lady a car, always good to be the hero every now and then!! Quote
