just a question to you guys with the heritage, is there any way to bolt up a metal usable stand on trailer fenders to the heritage trailer?

Posted

I'm not sure what your asking.  The fenders have steps on them, though the whole fender is made of plastic.  I'm afraid to put all of my weight on them.  I just use them sort of as an assist.  While I'm moving I'll step on them on my way up.

Yes, that’s what I’m afraid off, breaking them off because they are plastic. I’m wondering if, say, the fenders of the 175 can bolt up to the heritage trailer.

ill give a call to the tracker dealer and see if there is an optional replacement.

How long are you guys running on the 6 gallons of fuel? I bought a small 2 gallon tank for that “just in case” situation. Fits perfect in the remaining space next to the batteries and gives me room for a tool bag. I haven’t had mine out yet but hopefully this week. Got my electronics installed and will be adding ratchet straps and a m-y wedge this week as well.

I use the copy of my sales receipt and I got an e-mail saying they accepted it.  Nice!

My tracker dealer contacted me, said that they currently don’t have a metal replacement fender for that trailer. Who knows, eventually one may be available.

You may have to change your pb in your signature, not sure that must be pushing 6 or 7 lbs

Here are some links to download the outboard manual from Mercury's download center. The manual is for 2017. I haven't received the boat yet so I can't verify the 2017 manual is the same as for the 2018 model year. Perhaps those who now have the boat can verify if the online version is the same as the printed one.

Anyone found a PDF of the owners manual?

The first link "30/40 FOURSTROKE_ 8M0118488R" should be the one you're looking for.  It has fuel requirements and break-in instructions among many other things. When you receive your boat, a printed version of the manual should be included.

Does the livewell work the same as other boats with timers on airator and recirculation,as with other tracker models. I read a bit of the motor manual it does cover operation of the boat but I'm looking for more specific operations for the livewell. They cover this in the videos on the tracker web page but they were using pro team 175.

There is no timer on the live-well.  It is either on or off.  You set your aerator flow screwing in our out, and the extra water exits the overflow at the top of the live-well.   I messed with the live-well some my first time out, but haven't had a chance to get out and really spend some time with the boat. :Captain:

Can you add a timer?

It's your boat.  You can add whatever you want.  On the Heritage the bilge and aerator are on the same switch so you may or may not want to change the bilge switch out.  There is the lettering on the panel also. :fishing2:

I finally got to spend some time messing with the boat. I have a pet peeve when it comes to cable/wires and fuel line routing. I didn’t like the stress on the fuel line where it goes into the motor pan and the way the fuel line from tank to motor was just laying in the floor and rubbing against corners of the battery tray and motor mount bolt. I routed and secured the fuel line with the cables coming out of the motor where they enter the battery/fuel compartment and I also got the fuel line off the floor and secured it at different locations to keep it from flopping and rubbing anything. Something for you guys to look at, I have owned several boats in 30 years and I have seen holes rubbed into fuel lines on 1-2 times.

I do not have much experience with aluminum boats. But i was curious if on the off chance that i fancy taking it down to the coast. What should i expect as far as maintenance goes or should i avoid putting it in salt water all together?

Wow that does go way around. Is that the factory fuel line it looks kinds long. Do you have another fuel tank in there or was that a gas can.

That’s straight from the factory, that other fuel can is just a small 2 gallon I put in there in case I get a wild hair and run it to fumes on the main tank.

thanks for the pics.  when I seen the boat at bass pro, I lifted the back hatch and seen that mess and thought I was gonna have to do some organizing too.  Nice work, now don't need to worry about wore out line.
