jaimeastin Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Almost a week with the boat and it is still in the garage, lol. Plan to take it out this weekend.  New pics. These is the fish finder setup. They are networked. Have the bow mounted fish finder on a cutting board mount I made. For the mounting, it is all Scotty parts. The final picture shows how I can fold it down when moving the boat.  The idea is that I can fish and control the fish finder standing up or sitting down... My have a pinched nerve in my back and it has been keeping from kayak fishing this new year. I don't want to bend down too much right now... I am not really a person who wants to sit down and fish, but I have to be responsible.  I want to mount the foot pedal now... But something says wait until I use it. What I want to do is mount it on a cutting boar or something that I can put bolts under and wingnuts on top. This way, I can remove the fishing finder when need to without the need of a screw driver... Well, I That means the transducer up front too. See, always a new variable. 4 Quote

As I hope you never need it,  if you venture/fish in remote locations or at night (or both like me), if & when you get the dreaded "Click" of a dead battery,  you're going to be very glad you did. Additionally, you can 'help a brother out' if need be. They only had 10 people on the list and said that a few of them have backed out so there is a chance i might get it sooner. We will see. conceptmachine Posted March 7, 2018 Posted March 7, 2018 Sounds like mine is moving up then.  I ordered from bass pro 2 weeks ago and they said June. a fella on here said he ordered this past weekend and he was in August. i do believe that it goes in time of order from tracker, not specific to certain dealers.  Some independent dealers ordered boats and have been getting stock in.  I could pick up one about 200 miles away in April but I’ll wait it out for a local delivery. 1 Quote

I ordered mine this last Saturday, but the rep said that Tracker was out as far as the end of July or August at this point. Others have reported that some dealers won't even quote a time frame now because the info provided isn't proving to be any good. Who knows. I was told that if I ordered a boat I would get one, so that's all I'm betting on. 3 Quote

Where on the boat is this located?  Where you able to determine if these defects are surface only or run through the aluminum, thus allowing water to come in?  So which defect are you talking about defect 1, 2, or both? Defect 1  Defect 2  Depending on the location and how bad these are, attempting to a re-weld by Tracker or the dealer might not be any better than to take JP Weld to it. Both. No haven't had a chance to determine if they go through. Is on right front of bow where the side and the runner? I tried to look mine over like I do do all this GS I buy. This is different as I waited for so long, I would overlooked that... Good catch.  Secondly this issue is would mess with my head. I would hate to give it back to be fixed when I just got it and would be tempted to seal it myself, given the location, it could be sealed... But that should be fixed by them or at the least acknowledged. Needs testing to see if water can get there.  As much as it would make me crazy, stay calm and let them know to see what their solution would be... Last thing you want is for things to get worse and they blame you.  Good eye! I am about to look mine over now. I did find a dent and a screw laying in the hull... They also randomly used a larger screw in the transducer mount... Just one which makes me thing the first messed up, lol.  Quote

Took all the wind out of my sails for sure last night as I had been waiting for it for so long and so excited it is here. Yes I want them to fix it because I know how warranty works … never is their fault and they are always looking for an out. Should hear back from my Tracker rep today as I also emailed him plus the business assistant that scheduled my appointment for Saturday. Am going to be that squeaky wheel until they resolve it. I don't have an issue waiting for it as long as I am comfortable with it when I sign. 2 Quote

I'd refuse the boat and ask for another one. I wouldn't even let them fix it by hand, but thats just me. You're spending 11K on this boat, it should LOOK good from the factory. By you refusing, you are also showing tracker who is boss. *THE CONSUMER* If tracker sees that these boats are having quality issues, maybe they will announce to the production team that quality is suffering. They need to slow down and pay attention to what they are doing. If people accept the poor quality, then it becomes the norm. I know I wont be accepting it, no matter how long it gets delayed. You are better off accepting a demo model boat in August when they start going on sale, as those were built the best out of all of them IMO. 5 Quote

The demo model at the BPS by me has a small spot like that, so it may not be a good idea to hold out for that.  In fact all of the welds are a little rough on that one.  On my boat the welds are definitely better, but they are not going to win any awards.   For robot welding I kind of expected more.  I have an aluminum horse trailer and I know it has human welds, and they are very nice and smooth.   For you guys still waiting, just like anything you buy, check it over before you sign.  Bisk keep us up to date.  Thanks. 2 Quote
