Craving BBQ and my favorite BBQ place is next to Cabelas so I may just drop in to look at it again.

Could of been one of the first inline. it's probably on a first come first serve basis per preorder of course.

Anyone start buying stuff to equip the boat?  I'm going to keep the stock equipment for awhile.  Stuff like bow line, anchor, battery charger, PFD's...

I want to get a couple of inflatable PFD's.  I can't believe there are so many out there that are not USCG certified!  To me it seems like a waste not to have the CG stamp on them.  Right now I'm waiting for some kind of sale to pop up, I like a couple at Cabelas.  I did get a bow line at Walmart for a couple of bucks :P.

I've been lurking around since the boat was announced.  I put a deposit down a couple days after Christmas and I wished I would have listened to my wife when she said do it a week before Christmas.  I did not know the demand would be so high.  To make matters worse,  I called up BP and asked them if they would transfer my information to a local dealer that was only 15 minutes from me and BP was about 1:40 minutes away.  The reason I did not go to the local shop was because they were closed for the holidays.  Thankfully, BP transferred and returned my deposit.  So I waited for the local shop to open and put down another deposit...   Both quoted me the same time frame, mid February.  I just cannot wait for this.

I have 4 kayaks, a couple float tubes, and a Mariner 4 inflatable boat... My wife really wanted a boat more than me so there was no issue there.  This my first boat, YAY!  Too nice of a package not to bite.  I have been buying things for it since Dec.  I set a budget and still trying to pick out a nice console FF, I wanted to put a new on the deck as well...

I am very happy to see so many people getting one.

They didn't offer me the Platinum Protection plan. It was weird, I told them at the show I was going to put $1500 - $2K down but the loan I was approved for was for no money down and 120 months and they had already added the cost of the GAP coverage, 7 year warranty and 5 year Accident/Health into the payments.

I called and tried to put $2K down and they said that I can't because it will bring total financed under 10K and they won't finance under $10K so I'll be putting $1500 down. I called my insurance company, State Farm, to get an insurance quote and they asked if they could try to get me better terms on a loan and surprisingly they couldn't beat White River's interest rate.

I'm only going with the gap coverage as it really doesn't add much to the payments and depreciation on boats is worse than cars.

Any penalty for early pay off?

I have been holding off on buying anything for it. Once I have a firm delivery date I might start buying. I did almost pull the trigger on a Humminbird 688 DI HD that Cabelas had on clearance for $249. Don't want to jinx anything by buying a bunch of stuff and having something cause it to fall through.

Not that I'm aware of but I haven't seen the final paperwork yet.

Oh yeah, when I went initially went to BP, I knew they had one in stock and I thought I was going to get my boat the same day.  Not only did I not get my boat there 6-7 guys there before me, this was in the morning.  There was a guy there when I was looking at a higher model, but ultimately decided to put a deposit down on the heritage boat after we all were all over it.  Thing is, we were messing around on the only boat they had which was already sold.

I hope the welds look better than this when mine comes in.:o

That was some hack in a shop trying to fix a couple welds. Not a chance that would ever leave the factory.

The 688 is old technology and is no longer supported by Humminbird. Not that it's a bad unit, but there will be no software updates because it's considered a "legacy" unit. That unit was manufactured probably 4 or 5 years ago and has been sitting on a shelf.

New to the forum. Ordered my Heritage a week ago while at the Little Rock boat show. The salesman i had, from Bradford Marine, wouldn’t even give an estimated delivery date. I overheard a salesman tell others their dealership was slotted 80 boats. They were selling like hot cakes at the boat show. I pulled the trigger. First fishing boat.

My situation is what they’re advertising this boat for. Got two kids under 10, never fished (not like this) before. Born in 78, turn 40 in June. Looks like the perfect birthday present for me. Oh and just graduated from college, so this will serve as a graduation present as well. Most importantly, i look forward to making memories with my kids. I never had that growing up.

I spent all day yesterday yesterday studying YouTube university on what accessories/upgrades to get and how to install. Fish Finders frustrate the crap out of me. Seems like you’ve gotta buy an expensive unit to really be able to use one, and it seems like one on the bow is a complete necessity. I’d like to recess the foot controller eventually, and would like an onboard charger.

However, I’m gonna be patient and just go fishing! No idea what I’m doing, but we’ll see what happens.

Welcome.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need an expensive fish finder. All this "advanced" technology has only been around for around 10 years. People didn't just start catching fish 10 years ago. Graphs were the size of a volleyball and had paper scrolls in them when I was a kid. What you do need is the ability to understand what you are looking at on, no matter what graph you purchase. You can get a 5" color graph for $200 and add another $100 if you want it to have gps capabilities. You may not be able to recess the foot pedal depending on the below deck structure. On board chargers are nice, but you may lose storage space depending on how the boat is set up.
