I've been reading around, and can't seem to find a decent priced, low profile bait caster that has a gear ratio in the 5:1's and is left handed.  This reel will be for 6xd's to 8xd's.  Can anyone recommend a good reel that's under $130?  Also, will fishing a 5xd with a 6.3:1 Tatula SV harm the reel?  Thanks guys

Look on Ebay for a Tatula SV103 , won't have 5:1, but other ratios will work and there will be no damage no matter what you're fishing.

Ok thanks!  I just thought that since the SV spool is made for light baits, it might be bad to fish a high resistance crankbait that puts so much torque on the gears.  Thanks for the reassurance!!!

Last I looked around Abu was the last game in town for a left handed 5.x ratio reel, the BPS PQ also came in a left 5.x at one time. Daiwa Zillion SV TW is available JDM in a 5.x left hand, but its over your budget.

Abu Garcia Orra Winch is a good reel. It has a 5.4 ratio and is available left handed. Cost is around $75. My son has one. He likes it and so do I.

Hard to beat an orra winch for the price you can find them for. Tacklewarehouse just had a huge sale on left handed winches for around 50 bucks.

Yea I agree it's getting harder to find. I think *** makes a 5.3:1 in some of there offerings, too.

I'd be looking for a used Shimano E series if that was my budget.

I have a CU 200 E5 that's the bees knees, but they never made a lefty version of the E5, only the E7.

My pops has a Pro Qualifier that he likes and they are a very affordable reel. Possibly something to consider...

That's not true. It's just that Shimano painted them white and spelled it CH200E5.

It throws light baits nicely, but can also throw heavier baits just as well, don't let that fool you. The spool simply helps with braking for lighter baits. I use a 6.3:1 SV (right handed) for crankbaits and have no issues. Of course, it's not 5:1 if you really want a 5:1....

Ah yes! True, true. The good old switcharoo. I was referring to the good old  "greenies", but the 'storm troopers" are essentially the same with an anodized spool. The CH201E5 would be perfect for OP. The only trouble would be finding someone willing to part with one in the first place and then doing so with out costing an arm and a leg! Haha
