NashLouie Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Anyone know Lucky Craft lures? Found a box of them unopened, and want to know if I should leave them alone. They don't particularly look old, but have read some of these lures are collectible. Thanks for the help. Any info on Wiggle Warts? These look older. Thanks! 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 15, 2017 Global Moderator Posted December 15, 2017 I'd use the Lucky Crafts in the first picture. None of them are really any more valuable than the other. The wiggle warts will either have "wiggle wart" or "Storm", stamped on the underside of the bill. The ones that say "wiggle wart", are the older and more valuable ones, although craw colors tend to bring the most money. 3rd picture is older Rapalas, Creek Chub, Heddon, Storm, Arborgast, and a couple others. Not any real valuable unless you find a collector needing them. Still some history and neat baits there though. Bottom looks to be Megabass and maybe Jackall. The ones with the outbarb hooks are certainly Megabass, which are expensive baits, but I'd fish them. 1 1 Quote

Super User deep Posted December 15, 2017 Super User Posted December 15, 2017 Something seems off with those Lucky Craft boxes. Maybe older packaging? The ones I buy seem to have a lot more red. The storm baits with the leaping fish inside the O are older prerapalas, the one with the lightning sign is newer. The megabasses seem to be deep-X's and a couple flap slaps. If they're real megabasses, it'd be marked on the bait. (lots of knockoff blanks). A lot of real megabasses actually do not come stock with Katsuage outbarbs; although most 110s do (not the 110jr though). 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted December 15, 2017 Super User Posted December 15, 2017 It looks like one of the Wiggle warts is the little size . I use to have several of them , they worked real well in tree tops . 2 Quote

I would say at the earliest they would be late 90's early 2000's. The loose "Megabass cranks" are the only ones out of the box of Megabass lures to not have markings on the top of them. That's why I didn't know what they were. So if they don't have that marking on the top they are knockoffs? Model, year, and Japanese symbol in eye. Quote
Super User deep Posted December 15, 2017 Super User Posted December 15, 2017 If you have the model and the year, they are probably real. I didn't mean to say they'd be explicitly marked "megabass" all the time. It might say Ito too. The actual markings would change over time/ year to year. Anyway, I doubt the knockoff blanks existed 15+ years back. 1 Quote

The dates I said are from the others with markings on them. They all have lure info and dates. Quote
Super User WRB Posted December 15, 2017 Super User Posted December 15, 2017 The wooden Heddon Pikie with glass eyes is the only vintage pre 1950 era lure that I can deterime and it's in less than good condition. You may have a few LC pointers and Sammies in original ghost minnow color that are rare today. I would fish everything you have. Tom 1 Quote

That is just the older packaging that LC had before the current red cards. You may want to check on the Flashminnow 110's as I believe they have been discontinued. Allen 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted December 15, 2017 Super User Posted December 15, 2017 I might be interested in some of the warts if you're trying to sell. 1 Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Warts are the good Pre Rapaoa except the one that says "original series" 1 Quote

NashLouie Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 Thank you to everyone here. We are organizing a huge collection. My wife's brother passed away unexpectedly in January. It was awful. I don't have the expertise, and all of this info is greatly appreciated. Quote

Maybe they're not megabasses. 1 Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Could be custom painted knock offs 1 Quote
Stalking bass Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 They look like bps lures. Not megabass. 1 Quote

For sure, the two flat-sides on the right are Flap Slaps. Top-left is a Bait-X. The rest look like Deep-X 100's and Deep-X 200T's...The two on the top-right could be Deep-X 150's, angle makes it tough to tell. The 150's have a more round overall shape than the 100's and 200T's. Most Megabass baits have the 'signature' somewhere, but sometime it fades out to the point where you can't see it. I also have some older ones that don't have it. I doubt they are knockoff's or custom blanks since these are not very popular models. They aren't collector items, but are nice baits...You should fish with them . 1 Quote
YoTone Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Its crazy how much those original wiggle warts go for. It kind of makes me want to buy one, even with the high prices just to see what the craze is all about. 1 Quote

Even with the pre-raps, it wasn't every one that hunted. So a lot of guys that know what they're doing will buy big lots, test them all to find the ones that hunt, then sell the others individually and a lot of times come out ahead. They're crazy effective in the Ozark lakes at times though. I was unfortunate enough to fish behind a really good wart fisherman on Table Rock once when they were really keyed in on it. I might as well have not brought any rods since all I did was net his fish all day. 2 Quote
