Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted December 12, 2017 Global Moderator Posted December 12, 2017 Under the build your boat section of the boat company's websites how accurate is the pricing? Is it 10% low, 20% low, 10% high? If it's fairly accurate (minus tax, rigging, ECT.) The Renegade is looking quite tempting. Another question I had was they didn't offer some of the options I was looking for, can or will they install them or is it up to the dealer? What I'm referring to is for the 17' Renegade they didn't offer a 24v TM. Thanks in advance! Quote
RenegadeBassin Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I just built what I think is basically exactly how my renegade came from the dealer and the price was about $1000 more online than what I payed for it. This includes something in the summary under discounts called NAPDISC though, maybe some of the more experience guys on here know what that is. Without that then the online price would be about $5000 more than what I payed for it. Give the dealer a call and ask what they would sell you one for. That's what I did. As far as the trolling motor goes I have a 24v. The dealer installed it. He had the boat already though I didn't order it so I'm not sure if they do that at the factory or not. 1 Quote

On line they had 3-4 different TM options but they were all 12v. That's pretty encouraging that it's fairly accurate. How are you liking yours so far? Quote
RenegadeBassin Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I'm really liking it so far. I got to use it 5 or 6 times before I had to put it in the garage for the winter (we just got 8 inches of snow this weekend and its snowing right now,) and so far I think it rides great, looks great, and I'm a huge fan of having a four stroke motor. I'm interested to see if the batteries that came with it will hold up during an 8 hour tournament day, but if it has any issues I think I can squeeze another one in there. Right now I have two trolling motor batteries and a cranking battery with all my electronics hooked up to it. 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted December 12, 2017 Super User Posted December 12, 2017 Going to depend on the manufacturer. I have heard Ranger pricing is true to the boat builder. I paid about 17% below Lunds boat builder. That being said, I bought a showroom boat from a high volume dealer. Ordered boats and low volume dealers will have less flexibility. I don't know about other brands. 1 Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 12, 2017 Super User Posted December 12, 2017 Speak with the dealer who you want to order the boat through and ask them to work with you. They want your money. When I ordered my new Ranger I paid a few thousand less than what it cost to build it online . 1 1 Quote
