Since I started this I guess I should chime in. I have done these in the past and here is what has worked the best.

1. Set an approximate value for the lures of say $10. So if I am sending out jigs I will need to send 2 for each person but someone painting cranks should send 1. This does not mean I think a custom crank or jig is worth more or less it is just an approximate.

2. Someone needs to be in charge of the exchange (Not me or you may never get anything). What I mean by this is instead of 12 people sending 11 different packages out they all go to one person. That person then puts the baits for each person in a Flat Rate box and mails them out. Everyone should send like $7 for the cost of return shipping or whatever the going rate is? This is cheaper and more logical than the shipping free for all.

3. The lures you send should be something that works for you. This exercise is for other lure makers to see your work and try out something new that works for another angler. I am not sure what jigs I plan on sending yet but they will not be something you can buy on TW. An example of this is some of those bladed swimjigs Bluebasser keeps posting that are a color I would have never though of trying.

Post your thoughts with any input you may have.

Sounds good! I'll send mine UPS and include a return shipping label if that works.

This!! This is what we needed to get clarified! I agree with this 100% I'm going to pass up on taking charge because shipping in Canada is horrible.

ya i will agree with that i dont think you all want to be paying customs with shipping too

If I dress the hooks the caps won't fit on. Humm decisions decisions. If we send the lures all out at once to one destination to be sent out than I won't need to worry about the dressed hooks.

Lol customes... Smh. Gotta love it.

Is anyone here interested in becoming the distributor for this swap?

If you cut corrugated cardboard against the grain, and fold over, it makes great hook guards. I may have to join the swap, I can't stop bending wire!

I can do the packing and shipping if every one wants to send them to me and send some PayPal for return shipping or something like that? Or I can ship and then everyone can PayPal that amount?

I have shipped a thing or two to Canada.  I'm thinking we need to send you at least $10 with our baits to cover shipping.  I am working on finalizing my stuff.  Since plastics go for less money I will be sending more of them.  Blue if you will pm me you shipping info I will get mine in the mail sometime next week.

It doesn't matter to me how everyone wants to do it. Either send paypal/return shipping label beforehand, or I can ship and let each person know individually how much it cost to ship and they can pay me back for shipping cost.

I guess if you're not on the list on the previous page and are participating, let me know. I'll send the shipping address for everyone else to send their baits to via PM.

I plan to sort my baits into units for each person.  I will package them in zip lock bags with my screen name inside so Blue won't have to sort them and people will know who sent them.

Id be happy wih whatever you can provide. I wouldnt get overly hung up on the dollar figure, especially since you canadian guys have to pay more in shipping
