Super User scaleface Posted December 5, 2017 Super User Posted December 5, 2017 My fishing is over for the season and I'm thinking about next year . What would be some good snagless soft swimbaits to fish in the thickest of brush ? I want it to have a lot of thump when I kill it . When the bait falls I want the bass to feel that tail kicking . It could be a paddle tail worm also , it just needs to have a lot of action on the drop . Quote
Junger Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 I use a Keitech 4.8" Swing Impact Fat on a 4/0 Owner Beast EWG in that exact situation. Sometimes I go weightless, sometimes I go weighted if I want faster fall. If you need some flash or vibration, add a hitchhiker blade, like the Talon custom lure colorado blade. 4 Quote

RHuff Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Don’t count out a Rage Tail Structure Bug or Space Monkey rigged with the Rage Rig on a weighted swimbait hook.. it will give a little more action on the vertical fall and can be retrieved also like a swimbait 1 Quote
CroakHunter Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Zoom paddle tail worm works well. Very slender so it goes on and put of cover well 2 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted December 6, 2017 Super User Posted December 6, 2017 Gambler ez with hollow point. Goes through anything. I skip them into overhanging bushes and briars all the time. 1 Quote
Chris Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I use a zipper paddle tail that I make myself I got the mold at lurecraft. I have been using it for years and still works well. The tail has a lot of material to it so it thumps, the bait is 4" and beefy. Quote
IndianaOutdoors Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Keitech have very soft plastic wich gives good action but also tears easily. I have trouble keeping them on the hook when making contact with brush/heavy cover. I have been using a grub if I want lots of tail action when pitching to cover. If I think they want the paddle tail I'll use something cheaper and more resilient than a keitech. Something like a havoc grass pig or bass assassin die dapper. If you don't mind going through baits keitech is the way to go. 1 Quote
Crankin4Bass Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I like the Strike King KVD Caffeine Shad with an EWG. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted December 6, 2017 Author Super User Posted December 6, 2017 I have some Money Minnows but I want more action when I kill it . Quote
chattooga_ basser Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I like a Gambler EZ swimmer or little EZ. I'll use either a 3/0 or 4/0 weighted Mustad grip pin hook. Sometimes I'll use it like a buzzbait in the shallow brush or in the deeper stuff slow roll it. Quote

I wasn't real impressed with the tail kick, but, I will say they do seem durable. Quote

Maybe I should try a keitech fat impact. Quote
IndianaOutdoors Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Has anyone tried any of the elaztech paddle tails? Seems like they would be the most resistant to tearing and might me supple enough to have good action. 1 Quote
Sifuedition Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 I picked up some Reaction Innovation swimbaits to use as a chatterbait trailer. Finally got to throw one today and I like the tail kick on those better than the grass pigs. 2 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 10, 2017 Super User Posted December 10, 2017 Zoom swimmers or whatever they are called have a lot of action on the drop as well. 1 Quote
