Super User burrows Posted December 2, 2017 Super User Posted December 2, 2017 I have a blackout spinning rod that I don't really use and wanted to use it for trout fishing, I was wondering if there is a way to strip the butt end EVA and replace it with cork? Has any one done this? How would I go about doing this? Quote
Super User burrows Posted December 2, 2017 Author Super User Posted December 2, 2017 I just watched a few videos on you tube and doesn't seem like its worth my time I think I'll keep it as is. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 There's some work involved but it's not all that bad. Strip off the old, build tape arbors, ream and epoxy new grip in place. There are a few finer points but that's the gist of it. 1 Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Cork grips come with different diameter holes in them from the suppliers, or you can bore them pretty easily to a size that slips over the blank's butt. Turn down the eva grip to the butt diameter, or to the cork grips ID and slip on the cork grip, Add, or replace the butt cap and your done. Same can be done with graphite sleeve grip material, but it's even easier, with less work. 1 Quote
