so i just had a thought, i know in my zillion tws i have an sv spool and i also know that the frame is very similar if not the same as the old tatula frame. my thinking is that i can take the sv spool out of my zillion and put it into my tatula to make a tatula sv. my question is has anyone tried this to know if it will work or not?

I am not positive as to how the design works because I don't own a zillion, but I would think the zillion's free floating spool would not be interchangeable with the tatulas which is not.  I am interested in your reasoning for wanting to swap to begin with.

i'm thinking the same thing now, my reasoning for changing it would be that my zillion is 5.5:1 and my tatula is 7.3:1 so if i can have an sv spool in a reel i use to skip jigs i think it could make life a little easier, where with casting crankbaits doesn't really require a light spool

maybe i could change the gearing instead. oh no i think the bait monkey is trying get me to buy a tatula sv now

I bought one close to MSRP when they first came out.  A few months later I started seeing them brand new on eBay for around $115-$130.  At that price, the bait monkey made me buy one even though I didn't have rod to put it on yet (but the bait monkey took care of that problem too).  They can still be found on eBay in that price range.

Spools nor the gear sets on those reels are interchangeable. I’m not sure if you bought just a Tat SV spool if it will swap into a normal Tat CT, not sure if the magnets in the side plate are different to accommodate the AIR brake.
