Global Moderator Mike L Posted November 29, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 29, 2017 Other than for punching I use Flouro on every combo I own. From 12# for moving baits to 20# for moderate to heavy vegetation. Mike 1 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted November 29, 2017 Super User Posted November 29, 2017 I wouldn't normally use fluoro. Quote

Super User WRB Posted November 29, 2017 Super User Posted November 29, 2017 0, Fluorocarbon line isn't needed for bass fishing. Tom 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 29, 2017 Super User Posted November 29, 2017 I use 6, 10, and 15# Tatsu. Quote
long island basser Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I use 20 lb sniper for pitching plastics/jigs in heavier cover. 14 and 16 lb sniper for spinner baits, swim jigs, rattle traps, some swimbaits, and crankbaits. Sparse cover plastics/jigs. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 30, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 30, 2017 I have 8lb on one spinning rod, 14/15 on one baitcaster, 17 on a baitcaster, and 20 on a baitcaster. I only use it for a few applications as I prefer to use copolymer when I'm "suppose" to use fluoro. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted November 30, 2017 Super User Posted November 30, 2017 I carry 4 spools of flouro with me at all time for making leaders. Main line on all my reels is braid. The sizes I carry: 8lb: Drop shot/finesse stuff 12lb: GP use 15lb: GP use when moderate cover is involved 17lb: heavier cover use. If I need line heavier than 17lb, i just tie straight to the braid. Usually 30 or 50lb. Works for me. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted November 30, 2017 Super User Posted November 30, 2017 General Purpose, most likely. Quote
GoneFishingLTN Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 When you go from braid to fluro how do you know how long you want your leader for like jigs or are all roughly the same length? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 30, 2017 Super User Posted November 30, 2017 I generally use an arm's length of leader. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted November 30, 2017 Super User Posted November 30, 2017 6, 8, 10 Gamma Edge Like @J Francho, I use my arm(s) to gauge leader length. I'm toying with jumping up in size (one of these days) for saltwater, though thus far, 10 in Gamma, and 10 in Yo-Zuri Hybrid has been enough for 20" striper, etc. Can't wait to find the bigger fishies in the sea Quote
rosshilk Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I keep on hand 8, 12, and 15. 8 for Finesse. 12 for moving baits (cranks, Spinnerbaits, swimjigs). 15 for jigs and Texas rigs 2 hours ago, GoneFishingLTN said: When you go from braid to fluro how do you know how long you want your leader for like jigs or are all roughly the same length? I honestly judge this based on how my leader knot goes through the rod. If it does not work too well I use a short leader. For crankbaits I use a 25 ft or more leader. It all depends on preference and how the knot performs leading the spool and the rod eyes. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 #15 Abrazx leader for deep cranking and #17-20 Abrazx for deep Carolina rigging. Quote
