Welcome to the BR site.

Haven't fished Mojave in over 30 years, no Smallmouth back then all northern strain largemouth bass.

Bobby and Garry Garland developed the Getzit (tubes)  on Mojave, Garry became a very successful pro bass angler fishing the dessert lakes Mead, Mojave and Havasu using his spider jigs and Getzits.

The Colorado River lakes were the first western reserviors to be stocked with Threadfin Shad and the reason smoke colored soft plastics were so effective back then and still are today.

We fished south out of Cottonwood most of the time on the Arizona side near the top of the big traverse, lots of small coves and points.

Roboworm Faulkstad Spl was created for Mojave.

For smallmouth yes. Havasu has bigger largemouth and more of a quantity bite there. About 12yrs ago that's all I'd catch at cottonwood was largemouth. Now the smallmouth population is insane! They can be hard to catch from shore as winter time the water levels drop. I can't wait to get my boat fixed and fish there. Thanks guys for welcoming me, I love Bass Resource!!

Roboworm Aarons magic works great as well along with Rapala X rap 8 in clown, and the other two bright colors offered. The saltwater orange and chartruese xrap is killer!

This topic still alive?? I live in Havasu, but fish Mohave a lot and is my favorite lake in the state. I fish out of Katherine's Landing though, and fish the AZ side more often for some reason. Would love to meet up with someone who also fishes the area.... !!

Ya I lost my password. Found all my info. Anyhow, I fish out of a Hobie Pro Angler at Cottonwood cove. I caught my biggest smallie there, 5lb 2oz. The smallmouth are getting bigger. An angler caught a 7.38 in a tournament. Any kayak anglers?

Tom,

What color Roboworm? I use smoke,Aarons magic and oxblood. Those are my go to colors. The Ned rig is killer in 20-25ft rocky bottom points.
