MHF and MM rod.   Any recommendations on brand is appreciated as well.   Say under $200.  Thank you!

Depends what your doing with the rod's but mhf you usually will use a higher gear ratio for jigs and weighted plastics? Mm rod slower gear ratio for crank baits? But can't tell you for sure without knowing what you intend on doing with the rods.

That’s what I’m considering.  Exactly what you wrote

If this will help, I use 6.2:1 reels on medium rods and that and up to 8.5:1 on my MH fast tip rods.  Many anglers in to a lot of crankbaiting prefer speeds lower than 6.2:1 on the medium rods.  Everyone has a their own preference.  In my water it is plastics heavy fishing, hence fast reels.
