NEBasser101 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 What is the best frog on the market? I have tried a couple of frogs and I cannot find one that is durable. I first started to frog this past year, and I want to do a lot of it next year. I just havent found the frog for me... any thoughts? Quote

The Savage Gear frog and popping frog (lily walker I think?), are the most durable frogs I've fished and have been really effective for me as well. Durability is nice, but I'm okay with a frog getting torn after catching several fish on it, because that means it's getting bit! Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 23, 2017 Super User Posted November 23, 2017 I've been throwing Academy's H2O XPRESS™ 5.5" & 4.5" Hollow-Body for 3 yrs now. No issues with durability, hook-up ratio, plus great price. Quote
Dtrombly Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Poppin' Pad Crasher. It can be easily walked as well as popped. Best of both worlds. Very durable. I have over 40lbs of largemouth on a single one and besides a little bit of wear on the paint it's still good as new. And for the price.. It's now the only frog I'll buy Quote
BrackishBassin Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Just to back up what everyone else is saying - Booyah. I like both the pad crasher and the popping version. Greatly prefer them to the Spro I picked up earlier this year. Quote
Scarborough817 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 spro bronze eye or spro popper for me just cant beat them 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 23, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 23, 2017 The soft plastic ones with paddle tail legs can be good too, like rage toad and zoom horny toad Quote
Jaderose Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Scumfrog Trophy Series. Learn it....Know it....Live it. This is the Best frog on the market for the heavy stuff. If you are fishing light pad fields or want to "walk" a frog in open water. This isn't it...but then again, I don't really consider that froggin. Gimme the heavy mats where if you get a blow up, it's hand to hand combat. If that's what you're in to...this is the frog you want 2 Quote

Super User Angry John Posted November 24, 2017 Super User Posted November 24, 2017 My top three are spro, r2s bully wa, and live target frogs in that order... Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 For me at least, durability and effectiveness seem to be negatively correlated to each other in frogs. The more durable a frog is, the harder it tends to be, which leads to worse hookups. My favorite frog is the Booyah pad crasher (especially in the junior size), I even like them better than the higher priced livetargets and spros (which have better durability, but at the price of hoosets and $$) Quote
RHuff Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 SPRO and Terminator makes pretty dang good frogs Quote
tander Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 I will go with the Booyah Pad Crasher followed by the Scum Frog. Quote
