Fishing trip December 1st-where should I go?

I'm retired, live in Nebraska and would like to get a little more bass fishing in this year. Water temp today was 42* and no success. I have a chance to take a week long trip the first week in December and looking for advice on where to go. I plan to spend a week there, and looking for recommendations on where to go, stay, fish, etc.

I have a 17' Crestliner VT17 which I plan to take. I'm willing to drive a full day (600-700 miles?) so that should open up quite a bit of Texas as well as MO/OK/LA/AR. Looking to hire a guide the first day and then spend the rest of the week fishing solo.

Recommendations for lake, accommodations, and guide would be appreciated.

I would love to take you out on Toledo Bend.  Toledo Bend has so much to offer.  You can fish grass, timber, creek channels, ridges, points, humps, and drains and catch fish in December. The lake is fishing really good right now too and should only get better. Monday we boated 32 bass and lost about as many as we caught.  The fish are schooled up in big schools and the fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year right now. Give me a call and we can talk about some options.  Sam Rayburn is also fishing really well and I guide there too.  The great thing about this area is you can fish both lakes in one trip since they are only 30 minutes apart. We have powerplant lakes in KS you can fish all winter long. One is more a big fish lake, the other produces 50-100 fish most days all winter long. I'm less than an hour from both so I could help you out if you're interested.

I see plates from all over during the winter time. I've always had the open invitation to anyone wanting to fish, as long as they don't mind a golden retriever leaning against them during boat rides 

It's a very difficult lake because of the sometimes irregular generation and Florida strain LMB. It's a very easy lake to blank on, but the risk is well worth the reward to me. Nice thing is, I can see the stack from my deck, so I know if they're generating or not before I leave. I haven't ever caught any of the monsters there, but several over 7 pounds and 1 limit over 30 pounds, I've seen some great days there.

You could come to lake ouachita in Arkansas. There's a guide name Chris Darby who's really good. His # is (870)867-7822. And there's a few options on where a man could stay depending on his budget. We've been catching em pretty good lately here. Just an option I'm throwing out there.
