Ok my budget is $200 I want a spinning reel that also comes with a spare spool. I love the spare spool because I spool one with 6# copoly and one with 20# braid and swap spools accordingly. Being a coangler it gives me another setup without taking up space. So give me ideas of spinning reels that still come with a spare spool. My first choice would be an Abu Garcia or Okuma but I am open to anything.

I haven’t seen any reels that still come with spare spools anymore. Do companies still do that?

I'm not sure that's why I posted this thread. I know Abu Garcia doesn't any longer

I don't think anyone does this anymore to save costs. it sucks. any mid to high end spinning reel used to come with one always as little as a few years ago (eg shimano symetres all used to)

Decades ago spinning reel came with 2 spools, standard depth and shallow depth spools. Today you order the extra spools.

Shimano stradic fk in your budget! doesn't come with a spare spool but it's a freaking stradic and that out weighs the spare spool. Lol

Whaaat? You think this is 1990 or sumpthin?

Seriously, even in the 90's most spare spools were just that...cheap plastic spares, to be  used like the donut spare tire in trunk if you messed up your line. Somewhere along the road spinning reels started to be made with seriously reliable drags, located in the spool. The spool became a d**n expensive part in high end reels. An extra quality spool would add 20% or more to the cost of a reel these days. The upshot is you can actually rely on the drag and not have to backreel. Some long time spinfishers like myself still backreel, but these days my drag isn't cranked all the way down. It's set at a "disaster" setting...and I know it's smooth and reliable should I not flip the anti-reverse in time!

On the Abu Garcia page, they say it comes with a spare spool. IDK..

I bought a Revo SX from TW and it did not come with it. I'll have to call TW and see what's up before I return it.

My Kastking Mela 2 came with a spare graphite spool. At $30 It's way under your price range though.

The previous generation of Pflueger reels did this, and you may still be able to find some on closeouts. The previous version of the Patriarch, originally $199, should come with an extra spool if you can find it.

Used to love that about Pflueger reels. My Supreme, President and Trion reels all came with a spare aluminum spool. The spare spool didn't have any cutouts to reduce weight but they were aluminum.

I got a hold of TW. All Revos still come with spare spools. My box just didn't have the deeper braid spool. They said both spools are the same except one is made deeper for bigger braid and one is shallower for thin mono. They are sending me the braid spool I didn't get and are making sure all the other spinning reels have them in there.

I bought my Shimano Stradic 10 years ago and at least at that time it came with a spare spool.  It is a 4000 size and I believe it would bring in a whale..incredible spinning reel.
