Michiganbassing Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I was hoping to get an opinion on which ones of these reels would be the best purchase, I recently asked this question and a lot of people said ebay but I want that completely taken out of the picture. Which one of these is the most quality, abu garcia pro max, *** origin A, shimano caenan, Lews laser mg speed spool mgs, shimano caius, Quote
moguy1973 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I'm a fan of Lew's reels now after having owned two of them now. Quote
BrianSnat Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I have Diawa, Shimano and Lew's baitcasters. Though the Diawas and Shimanos are fine reels I've found the Lews reels to consistently provide the most bang for the buck. At the price point you seem to be focused on I would definitely go with Lews. You might be able to pick up a Lews Tournament MB on sale for under $100 and it is a very good reel at that price. This summer I bought a Lews Super Duty on sale at Cabelas for $99 and it was a steal. It is an excellent reel and every bit as good as my Shimanos that cost twice that. Quote
CroakHunter Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Curious why you wouldn't want to buy a reel up to 30% off on ebay? I've bought multiple reels off there. Including a daiwa fuego this week for only 70 bucks. I am not a Shimano fanboy, but they are hard to beat. I think I would rank them: caenan, speed spool, pro max, caius. I'm not sure what an origin a is so I can't speak for that one 1 Quote

The Origin A is sold by the company we can't mention. If going that way, I would spend the extra $20 (list) for the reel with an aluminum frame instead of composite. I don't own any of those reels, but have other models from each brand. I can only go by the reviews I have read for those models. Based on those reviews, I would go with the Lew's. Quote
NathanDLTH Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 I've found some nice deals on Amazon as well, but ebay has killer deals. Baitcasters: Daiwa, Shimano, and Lews. Quote
Super User burrows Posted November 10, 2017 Super User Posted November 10, 2017 Shimano canaen would be my pick for the best and cheapest. Quote
