adbassfishing Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 So i just started painting crank baits, i bought a cheaper Master airbrush kit from Amazon. I've been trying to paint and can do so, but it takes the paint forever to come out of the gun. I have thinned the paint already, hoping that would help but maybe i haven't thinned it enough? I have been thinning with water only to save money, is there something else i need to add to the water? Here is the kit i bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BF0MW9G/ref=asc_df_B00BF0MW9G5255309/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B00BF0MW9G&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198071540295&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2164691969427926008&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9041403&hvtargid=pla-318190335306 Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I use tap water to thin. Some colors are thicker than others. Some brands are thicker than others. White and black being the worst. Pearls are thick too. Add about 1 drop water per 4 drops color. What PSI are you shooting? Use at least 30 while learning Disassemble gun after each use (not color) and clean well especially the nozzle and needle. Quote

I've been just eyeballing the mixture, but ill try your mixture, and my compressor doesnt have a gauge so i'm not sure exactly what PSI i am on. Quote
BobP Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Createx makes a thinning solution 4011 or you can make your own with water, alcohol, and a few drops of glycerin. Quote
