Hi All,

I have been looking for a MH-H spinning rod for some time to throw heaver spinner baits, jigs, swim baits, whopper ploppers etc. My budget is around $ 100. I was planning to wait for black Friday. However I was in a local sporting good store this A.M. and saw a small rack marked salesmen sample special. I poked thru it and saw a G Loomis spinning rod. I have never used a G Loomis rod, but know many of you love them. It's a E6X inshore 7 foot Heavy fast 10-17 line 1/4-1 oz. It was $ 200 marked down to $ 130. It was over my budget, but looked and felt really good, and was never used, so I bought it. I know inshore is supposed to be saltwater, but I don't know why it wouldn't work for throwing the above baits in fresh water, ( the fish sure wouldn't know). Am I correct in thinking this ?

                                                    Thanks

Inshore VS FW blanks is just because without the different designations they would need 15 different powers.

I think you'll be fine, the rods are the same, its all marketing.

You should be fine. I have some E6X Inshore rods (spinning/casting) and IMHO they're very good. I've used them in freshwater and the fish don't care. :) You also got a solid deal... enjoy!

Good deal! Now go catch some fish!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I won't be trying it out until next spring.

Actually, the way the salesmen explained it to me, I needed a salt water rod to throw salted plastics. In that case a fresh water rod would wouldn't work:lol:

Never pay MSRP for anything!

the E6X rods get a bit of a bad rap, mostly from those who 'played with them in the store'. but most who actually FISH with them, like them.

casting/jigging/playing the fish is not the same thing as farting around with one at the tackle shop.

I have two E6X rods (one baitcast, one spinning) and really like them.

congrats!
