The elite has a cork handle & the extreme has a proprietary handle cover called extreme skin. It is not slippery when wet & feels good in the hand after you get use to it Agreed. The extreme skin is pretty awesome. 1 Quote

If I would describe it I would say its almost a very fine compressed neoprene. Its probably the best handle I've used so far. IMO superior to cork. The oldest Extreme I have is about 3 yrs old. 2 Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 9, 2017 Super User Posted November 9, 2017 What I find that really enhances "feel" at least in my hands is an exposed blank at the reel seat. I particularly like the Powell Inferno type reel seat! 1 Quote
rangerjockey Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I kinda liked that reel seat also. The spinning rods are really uncomfortable. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 9, 2017 Super User Posted November 9, 2017 Over the counter rod that gets little coverage is Lamiglas Infinity series, INF 735 C has all the features including woven compressed carbon fiber with thin skin handle & butt grips. This rod blank is very similar to my ALX custom rods. The reason I use ALX was adding a short fore grip, don’t like rods without it and see several newer rods like NRX with them today. Tom Quote

Tom I've been discussing a custom build with them thru email. Hopefully they'll be able to fix me up without being too expensive. Quote
spoonplugger1 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 A custom built rod on a Point Blank blank makes a more than decent, light, and nicely balanced rod. Quote

This is where i see people get confused because they only make one SCV blank. If its any type of legend except the tournament which is SCIV then the blanks are all the same. Croix is kind enough to paint their blanks the same color for the same line making it super easy to know if the blanks are the same. They do split up the powers a little with a spinning and casting blank line but there both the same materials. Quote

They do split up the powers a little with a spinning and casting blank line but there both the same materials. Over the years the legend extreme was always the superior blank with a higher price between the two (legend extreme & legend elite). With the introduction of the new legend elite last year they are both listed as having the same blank materials & the same blank price model for model. "Super high-modulus SCVI graphite with FRS in lower section for maximum power and strength with reduced weight. High-modulus/high-strain SCV graphite with FRS and carbon-matte scrim for unparalleled strength, durability and sensitivity." Listed for both models. If you look at the casting rod line up you will notice that the legend extreme offer some models in fast, extra-fast, moderate & moderate fast actions while the legend elites only offer moderate fast, fast & extra-fast actions. So to answer your question the current blanks are the same except for color finish & model availability. Quote
