My son got 23 specks at Rodman the other day. Some were in the 2 lb range.

Can't wait to get down there soon.

I may try a few ponds this weekend . I'll report any results.

Pond fishing has been slow.

I tried a new one yesterday off racetrack road yesterday with no results.

Was it by julington creek?

Well, all the ponds off racetrack are near julington or Durbin creek. This one was behind the shopping center by wendies.  There's a tire store there. Wouldn't waste my time going there again.I haven't fished them much lately, but I used to do well in some of the julington creek plantation ponds. I fished Julington creek itself a lot for that matter , but not lately.

Got 2 in 4 casts last evening , both were tight to the bank. Caught on a black grape with green glitter ribbontail worm. Spawn is under way ! Late this Year due to all the cold we've had.

Bass are on the beds. The full moon this week will just about be it for this year. I'm thinking this weekend should be real good.

I've been getting some good sized fish this year so far, but not the numbers.

Had 45 minutes to fish before dark and got 4 on the June bug trick worm. They all bit it on a steady retrieve. Had a 4 pounder on right before dark. Was about to lip it when it got off.

I have fished the Osceola forest pits and ponds but its been years. Yeah i saw his Palestine fish, that was a nice one! There are some good ones in there but seem to be few and far between. Haven't fished Palestine myself since last year. Its such a fishy lookin lake its hard to believe it can be so hard to fish. I always had most of my luck out there in and around the reeds instead of all the obvious cypress trees and pads.

I love that lake but I have never caught more than a few fish a day there. But it just draws you in. I do best in the southwest corner in those cypress that are out away from shore. The rest of the lake, Its just picking one off here and there. It has always been  Kind of a mysterious lake to me.

Have you ever fished Sampson and Rowell lakes ? Have done well there at times, esp. in Rowell.

If I am going out that way around Sampson or Rowell I will just fish Santa Fe. I've always done better there. Some of the blackest bass I've ever caught too. That tannic water makes some pretty fish. Always do my best at Santa Fe at the mouths of creeks or close to where big and little Santa Fe connect.

I love Sante fe but Ive probably done better on Rowell . Caught my pb speck in Santa fe though. I enjoy fishing Sante fe better though. I wanted to live there at one point!

I have fished most of the lakes in N florida at one time or the other.
