TylerT123 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 How are the new Daiwa Lexas? I've been considering buying a 400WN with a 6.3:1 gear ratio. I like that it has a high line capacity, quality bearings and it can be used in freshwater and saltwater. I mostly fish in ponds but I'm probably going to go fishing in lakes and rivers next season. It's not just for bass. Thanks in advance! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted November 4, 2017 Super User Posted November 4, 2017 Welcome aboard, Tyler! My son uses a Lexa 100 and gets a lot of good use out of it. Plenty good for all freshwater needs. The 400 is a big reel, fine for salt, and probably hunting musky. Oversized for bass, IMO, but if it suits you, fine. If I were to get another today, I'd also look at the Tatula lineup... Quote

The Lexa platfrom is kinda krudy too and I'm a Daiwa guy. I would recomend you look at the Daiwa Tatula CT instead. If you really want a Lexa then get the Exceller exe which is based off of the 100 sized Lexa platfrom. It's not just for bass fishing, and how are the Lexa's "krudy"? I fish pretty heavy baits btw Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted November 4, 2017 Super User Posted November 4, 2017 Are you using this for swimbaits, I can't imagine the 400 would perform well with lighter lures. I use the 300 size Lexa for my soft swimbaits. Quote
