So I am looking for a new casting reel, the most I would like to spend is 80 but I can do 90 if it is worth it. I am looking to put it on a medium heavy rod. I have had the abu garcia black max before and wasnt too impressed and would like something nicer. So far, I have looked at the Abu Garcia Orra sx, *** origin A, Lews Laser MG speed spool and shimano caenan. Any advice on which of these reels are better than the other or new suggestions are appreciated

If ur interested, I have a Shimano Citica 200hg for 90 dollars shipped. It's a good reel, i just upgraded to a curado 70

Daiwa Tatula CT 100's can be found new around $90, Walmart has then listed at $89.99

In that price range, I strongly reccomend a Pflueger President XT. It is a great little reel. I prefer it over any over my other reels I paid a lot more money for. This reel isn’t even in the same conversation as a Black Max in my opinion. I’ve used all the reels in the Abu Max series and none of them can touch the President XT when it comes to performance. If $80 is your budget, definitely give the Pflueger President XT a try.

Tatula CT, easily. Check eBay. A few reputable sellers have them brand new for around $90.

It's leaps and bounds better than the reels you posted. I have 5 of them. They're great.

Well, I do have all pflueger spinning reels so I do trust them, but I am a little hesitant about their casting reels because they are known for spinning

I use several other Pflueger casting reels as well, and they are all quality, great-performing reels. I have all Pflueger spinning reels as well, and their casting stuff performs just as flawless.

I have not tried many casting reels.  But I haven needed to.  I have the an Abu Ora sx that I've been using for 2 1/2 seasons.  It's on a 7' mh.  It gets fished hard.  Spinner baits and crank baits mostly on that one.  T rigs sometimes too. I fish 4-7 days a week from June to October.  I have 3 oras in total now because I like that one so much.

I would suggest no.  I have an Abu Garcia Gen 3 Revo SX and I have a Tatula CT.  The Revo's are $150ish and the CTs are 90ish.  The Tatula CT is a much better reel in nearly every aspect.  I will not buy any reels other than Tatula SVs and Tatula CTs from this point forward.

ABU Garcia Revo SX is in that price range and a good reel.

Pflueger casting reels are the Rodney Dangerfield of casting reels.  I realize you are too young to know what that means so I'll tell you...."they get no respect".  Unfortunate because my experience with Pflueger casting reels has been all good.  I've used the old Trion that sold for $100 and the older blue Patriarch XT that sold for $250.  Both were excellent reels for the money and are still in use.

The Supreme is a $100 reel.  $74.76 with free shipping from here:  https://www.ebay.com/p/Pflueger-Sup64lhlp-Supreme-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel/1610417315

Unfortunately at that price there are quite a few reels offered only in right hand.  Otherwise I'd suggest a Pinnacle.  Mine is more expensive than your budget, but has been a fantastic reel for me.

Okuma is another reel seldom mentioned.  The Calera is in your budget.  A review:  http://best-fishingtackle.com/fishing-reels/baitcasting/okuma-calera-low-profile/  $60 price:  https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050430.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xokuma+calera+left+hand+casting+reel.TRS0&_nkw=okuma+calera+left+hand+casting+reel&_sacat=0

Daiwa Fuego CT left hand.  https://www.ebay.com/p/Daiwa-Fuego-Ct-Baitcasting-Reel-FGCT100HL/1603926622  I have one coming for a sister-in-law.  Price was $55 plus $7.25 for shipping so $62.25 total. I got lucky.  :teeth:  Tackletour gave it a "Best Value Award".

I have no experience with the Shimano Caenan  but it gets pretty good reviews.

Another "Best Value Award" went to the Tatula.  Personally I like Daiwas a lot and the Tatula would be my first choice if you can find one in your price range.

When I looked into pflueger casting reels I couldn't find any leftys under $100.  That was just a couple months ago.  I ended up getting a Tatula SV for $130 on eBay.  I'm very happy with it.  I would recommend keeping an eye on eBay for a few months.  Prices on tatula ct leftys were $80 a while back and I imagine they should come back down during winter.  Black Friday isn't too far off either.
