MichaelCopeland Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Yesterday at work my boss man gave me some books he thought I'd be interested in. He was right. I've only just begun reading when I can, so I've still gotta lotta reading to do. The books are: Largemouth Bass from The Hunting and Fishing Library, Proven Strategies For Catching Bass Special Edition from The B.A.S.S., Secrets Of America's Best Bass Pros by Tim Tucker, Lures For Lunker Bass by Bud Andrews and W. Horace Carter, Trophy Bass An Angler's Guide and Angler's Guide To Bass Patterns by Larry Larsen. If I'm not on here as much, been limited lately lots of things going on, it's because I'm all eyes in these books and/or out attempting what I've learned. 6 Quote

Tom I'm definitely gonna do my best to learn as much as I can from them. Even though I mostly fish ponds, I'm sure I'll be able to use all information in them eventually. 3 hours ago, MIbassyaker said: Lots more book recommendations here: That's a long list of books. It would take me a lifetime, almost, to read all of those...lol. Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 28, 2017 Super User Posted October 28, 2017 The 1 bass book that I enjoy revisiting occasionally is Bill Murphy's In Pursuit of Gaint Bass. It's written by a down to earth bass angler that includes wide ranging concepts on lure and live bait presentation and bass behavior. I was surprised when Murphy came out with his book because he was a very tight lipped bass angler. Agian you read and take away what helps you, as you should with fishing forum chatter. Tom 2 Quote

The book I have by him has secrets from lots of pros. Roland Martin, Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon, Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Guido Hibdon, Gary Klein, Doug Hannon, Shaw Grigsby, Tommy Martin, Ken Cook, Denny Brauer, Jimmy Houston and Rich Tauber. I've only heard of a handful of those guys, but I'm really looking forward to reading that one. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 28, 2017 Super User Posted October 28, 2017 With the exception of Doug Hannon all those anglers are Bassmaster tournament winners, some AOL, Classic champions and now TV program celebrities. Tom 1 Quote

Used copies show up occasionally on Amazon and ebay for a few bucks. The red B.A.S.S. hardcover you have is also part of a big series -- there are a whole bunch of those focusing on different patterns, lures, waters, strategies, ect. I have several of them, but looks like the one you got is one I don't have. 2 Quote
