I don't think my idea or way of sorting things is really all that interesting but my sister really wanted me to show you all so here we go.

Please don't mind the red light in the picture as that is my heat lamp light for my leopard gecko tank.

I will take my lure and anything with a hook and hang them on small tacs.

By doing this i believe it helps with drying and keeping my stuff nice and organized some what.

Also, I have all my hooks on a safely pin and this goes for all hook sizes.

I'd like to hear what you all think of it.

I organize close to the same way. Just on a larger scale. Got one of these walls for plastics, Hardbaits, and spinnerbaits/terminal tackle. Ike gave me the inspiration.

Good idea, but to paraphrase Sheriff Brodie "We need a bigger wall"...

If I did that to my tackle I'd have to move to China. How old is sis?

This is what one entire wall of my 1,200 sqft shop looks like, except not nearly that organized. Maybe someday I get around to it, but for now it's just organized by putting things wherever there's a spot for them.

Way to organized for me. I just throw my gear in a pile in my spare bedroom and hope I can find it the next time I want to go fishing.

How do you pack it when you go fishing?  Good organization.  I am thinking of using the safety pin idea.

As long as you don't have pets looks like good idea, easy to see what you have and what you want to take. I find I only need few variances for each of my lures/plastics and even terminal tackle so it helps things from getting too out of hand.

That's a great question, Hopefully this is some what helpful.

#1.Pick a location and know what kind of fish happen to be there and what spots i'll be fishing from.

#2.Pick a fish i'd like to target, It could be bass, rainbow trouts, panfish, all of them.

#3.I will then pick and choose lures to bring with me based on what has worked, location and fish and water depth.

I really wouldn't want to bring a crank bait that is big and can go a depth of 20-30 feet and use it in shallow water.

However, I will still pack and bring lures i have never used before or caught anything on but only a few of them.

#4.After all that, I then pack the lures accordingly.

Each lure gets packed into their own small zip lock bag.

After that is all done, all of them get put into their own category bag=Crankbaits,Frogs,Spinners,Power bait, etc.

In this case, they are packed into one gallon zip lock bags.

Plastics get this treatment, Kept in their original bags and put into a large one gallon zip lock bag.

If any plastics are not in a bag when i get them i put those into small zip lock bags and put those into the large zip lock bag.

#5. I put all the one gallon bags into my backpack and i'm off the fish!

When i get home, I will take the lures out of the bags and hang them up to dry and air out.

Not plastics though.

Edit: My tools go in the very front of my backpack for easy access.

I do have a pet but she is not tall enough or big enough to get her mouth on those and most times my door is shut so she's alright :)

Cool idea but why not put all your lures ect especially ones you using in tackle boxes and stack them up?

You mean for storage?, Like in plano boxes.

Yes, Your idea works and all but there was a time when i put a few wet lures in those boxes and came home forgot about them and they were rusty the next time i went fishing.

I learned my lesson to not be forgetful and to drill small holes into them and opening them to allow drying.

However, I don't like carrying like 4-5 boxes with me in my back pack as it's big and bulky and fear my stuff will rust again even after allowing it to dry out.

With everything in a zip lock bag and put in my back pack it's just more easy and convenient to grab and go and doesn't take up as much space you know.

I fish in a kayak and I keep a piece of pool noodle on the console and hang wet lures on it, to dry.  I put dessicant packs from prescriptions in my boxes.  I have my lures in plano type boxes, by category and move them to "boat boxes" to fish. I have a bag by bps that holds three planos boxes.  Found thin boxes for terminal tackle.

Many years ago, I used to put desiccant packs in tackle boxes.  But, I haven't had much problem with rust the past few years.  Seems nearly everything I use nowadays must be stainless or surgical steel...I don't worry about rust at all any more.

I use Plano Hydroflow boxes.  Any rust issues I had in the past is gone.

I use plastic storage boxes, gallon zip locs and label the

overflow of stuff on those bags.

Hard lures are in lure boxes.

Stuff I use is in a Plano guide box with most commonly

used soft plastics in the top compartments, terminal

tackle in a small box, divided up with labels for hook size

and so on. Z-Man plastics are in their own bags in the

bottom section along with spinner baits, scales, line, etc.

That's just my spare plastics I haven't unloaded the boxes in the boat in that picture.

Most of my stuff is in Plano boxes in one compartment on my boat. I’m bad to toss the packs of soft plastics I tend to use most often in the passenger console glove box. I think I actually find them quicker there. I’m in the process of paring down to stuff I most often catch with - Traps, squarebills, trick worms, Whopper Plopper. I ain’t done nothing with swim jigs and chatterbaits and I’m disappointed with that. Gonna try to learn shakeyhead over the winter. If it ain’t catching for me, I ain’t gonna tote it much longer.
