I've field tested a few rods over the years & I'm currently testing Powell Inferno Rods. I'm so impressed with these rods I bought the one I was testing & ordered a second.

I really like the Jakked Dokk Rokk  Jig. Can pitch it ,drag it and skip it , just a great all purpose head.

As to rods , the Falcon finesse jig rod ,which is the old Eakins rod is a good one, along with the Denali N2 finesse jig rod.

10 or 12lb. line of your choice. Personally I use Sniper.

I really appreciate all of the info from all of you! I'm learning one step at a time. If I was to upgrade jig rods up to a $250 price point and I'd like to have at least two rods for my heavier and lighter jigs, what are some good options? I had my eye on a dobyns 763 or 765 but I think that would have too much backbone. I was also looking at 735c FH

I fish 3/8 and 1/2 ounce jigs in a 7'4 heavy falcon Bucoo sr. I love it. I fish 1/4 ounce jigs on a 7ft medium fast action rod that we cannot talk about on here. And 3/4 and 1 ounce jigs on a 7'3 heavy lews tp1 speed stick. You could buy all 3 of these rods and be 10 bucks over your $250 budget. Pm me if you want to know what exact rod I was talking about. I also have a review on here about the falcon Bucoo
