ncbass13 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I've been bass fishing for 2+ years but I've only used a baitcaster for a few months then it broke it was a older bass pro shop tourney special I already have a good baitcasting rod and now im looking for the best baitcaster under $100. Looking for a reel that I can throw anything with a real workhorse that will last all my beginner moments with the baitcaster Quote

Dtrombly Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 If you can find the Tatula CT for under $100, that's the one to get. Quote

I've purchased two reels from this seller. Top notch seller. I bought this in left hand and I love it. That being said, if you want the easiest beginner reel then spend $125 and get the Tatula SV: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Tatula-SV-TW-103HS-7-3-1-Baitcast-Right-Hand-Fishing-Reel-TASV103HS-/302276482905?hash=item4661151759:g:p4UAAOSww3tY560S:sc:USPSFirstClass!61802!US!-1 The SV spool is the most forgiving baitcaster on the planet. I throw weightless worms with no problem. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted October 23, 2017 Super User Posted October 23, 2017 If you learn on a sv never use anyone else's reel!!! Quote

lonnie g Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 revo stx is a great reel for right at the 100 budget. I love mine Quote
Porkrind Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 May not be the popular picks but I have mostly Pinnacles now. I have a couple Optimus Xihs, Optimus LTE, and a Producer X. I love them all, they cast long distances, have really good drags, and feel great in the hand. I just bought my last Producer X for $49. 2 Quote
Super User burrows Posted October 25, 2017 Super User Posted October 25, 2017 Do yourself a favor and get a shimano casitas. Quote

If you don't wanna buy off eBay than I'd look at the Bass Pro Pro Qualifier or 13 Origin. Quote
kschultz76 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Another vote for the Tatula CT given your price point. Quote

Everyone on here will agree, the black max is the most reliable and used reel for beginners. Some seasoned guys still use ole' reliable. I do. Clean it, lube it and show it some love, that black max will last you for years. At 100 buck, you can get two. Quote

How about a review on each of the reels? I thought I was the only guy on here using a Pinnacle. Liked my Primmus well enough that when I had a chance to buy them at $104 I bought 2 more. I've got to agree with your assessment. At least in the case of the Primmus Xi HS. Very nice looking, light, casts like a dream with excellent distance and a good drag. Quote
