Super User bigbill Posted October 21, 2017 Super User Posted October 21, 2017 I find my favorite copolymere line is discontinued. I got lucky and found some on eBay. I find it has less stretch over regular mono. Bill Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted October 21, 2017 Super User Posted October 21, 2017 I picked up a 350 yd spool of 6# and 10# a couple years ago when I stocked up on AN40. Haven't as yet used either. Have a baitcast reel or two (and one spinning reel) that need line. I should give them a try. Guess I haven't been in a hurry to try them because you never read about this line. What else can you say about the line? How good is its abrasion resistance? What kind memory does it have? Quote
Super User bigbill Posted October 21, 2017 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2017 I use the standard excaliber silver thread copolymere line. It’s not the an40. This standard copolymere line surpassed all the other lines in it class in the bending and abrasive testing, excaliber had it posted on their website at onetime. when I started bass fishing decades ago before bass fishing I was using the Garcia river mist mono line. I think it was a $1 a spool. After losing some decent bass my search for good line at that time began. I chose excaliber silver thread line over its test results. I been using it to this day. my pb10lbs was caught on silver thread 8lb test. I landed a snapping turtle the size of the 30” tall tire on my jeep on 8lb test. He was clawing and fighting all the way in. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted October 22, 2017 Super User Posted October 22, 2017 Thanks Bill for the extra information. Yeah, I know it isn't AN40. Guess I better see if I can find any left over stock Online. 8# and 12# are my standards for Medium and MH rods, respectively. Quote
