Nebasska Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Take a kid fishing...it is the future of our sport and gives you time to mentor a kid and teach lifes lessons and have a blast.... 2 Quote
frogflogger Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Yep - it's a duty - take kids fishing and also there are a lot of folks out there that can't afford a boat and such - take them along once in a while - there were those that did it for me when I was young or when I couldn't afford a boat. Makes for great fishing. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 22, 2017 Global Moderator Posted October 22, 2017 I take my oldest, and will take my youngest in a couple years, as much as I can. 3 Quote
Vinjints Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 My kids took me fishing and that's how I got into it. But now that dad's into it, I want to go for several hours and they peak about 1-2 hours in (if they're not catching). How long are you able to keep your kids out with you, bank fishing? Quote
Nebasska Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 3-4 hours max...we are in a 14 foot alum boat of small lakes around us here in NE...And for sure there are many times it doesn't work out for the best...I have many times they wont go and I get to go by myself and I used to love it but I really like the company anymore... Fish n Things Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 My boy goes fishing with me everytime I go. He knows when I'm going fishing, and he craves it like I do. He is almost 5, likes to reel em in and take pictures, but doesn't quite have the patience for the set up yet. As soon as my daughter understands the reel its game time. Quote

How long are you able to keep your kids out with you, bank fishing? 1-2 hours is pretty darn good if you ask me. When my kids were younger, I usually chose lakes with playgrounds and brought junk, uh, I mean snacks along. Those things help. The right kind of “snacks” and pop they like can aid in lengthening their fishing time. Fish a bit, eat a bit, playground here, playground there, and maybe we just might catch some fish too. Live bait can keep you in the fish catching score column too. Night crawler on the drop shot is $$$$. Quote
