I really like stories that are written that focus mostly on family & friends, but also involve fishing. I've always felt fishing is much better when it's done with people you care about. Very nicely written piece.

Good stuff! Sounds like your friend Roger was a good fisherman. But more importantly, he was a great human being and friend. Thanks for sharing.

I was fishing with @Maico1 that day.  A year later, that event organizer, @Wild Bill [NY] passed away of a heart attack while fishing the night after the tournament.  We didn't find out until I got home a few days later.  I went back a couple times (Upper Saranac Lake), but haven't been in a couple years.  It's a fantastic place, but there are some sad memories there.  Coincidentally, the birthlpace listed on my BC says "Saranac Lake."
