I haven’t been fishing there yet, but have been out there to the various ranges they have. One day while waiting to check in, I was reading the WMA rules and regs. From what I remember, each lake has its own rules and regulations. You will have to check in and get a permit. While doing so, hit up the park rangers. They work there day in, year round. Some even fish where they work. The park rangers are a wealth of information. I did this at another WMA and also a state park in Georgia. Both places, I caught fish. I’d like to say it was my awesome technique and presentation (total sarcasm), but I know it was the rangers helping me find spots with fish.

Hopefully someone will chime in with current conditions as I know locally conditions are a lot different after Irma.

Good luck!!!

Tenoroc was on fuego last weekend. They have a board in the check-in office, telling you lakes that are doing well. Good to check there first. Also which lake depends on your mode of transport, boat (need ramp) or kayak/small jon? There are a few hand launch only lakes.

As for lure selection, water is usually pretty stained, so dark colors seem to produce, junebug or black and blue are my go to colors. I have tried many different lures, but always go back to texas rigged soft plastic, just plain works. 1/4 or 3/8 tungsten weight. 20lb straight braid.

Unreclaimed pits, I work the shore line brush, pitch it around, in, or through, and work it back. Most have a steep bank so you are still fishing in 8-15 ft of water, within a few yards of shore. I haven't mastered offshore structure out there, there is so much of it. Depth finder will be your best friend

Good luck, wish I could go this weekend!
