Workout Day 3 today.

Not going to lie, some days I can't wait to get into the gym,

and some days it's quite the mental battle to get down there.

Today was more of that second one.

I do believe that Consistency really is part of the secret sauce.

So once I got going, I felt a little better about doing the work.

Focused my efforts on Workout Day 2 right here.

Completed 3 working sets of the 4 movements scheduled.

Showing them here.

Started the annual calorie deficit phase.

I go slow, takes a few months,

but I will enjoy being a bit leaner.

Workout Day 4 today.

I was a little pressed for time,

so I needed to manage that as well.

Wrapping up the cycle with Workout Day 5.

Been eating, hydrating, and sleeping effectively.

Really makes a difference on how I feel

before, during and especially after this training.

Tackled Workout Day 1 in this one.

Felt a little drained going into it as yesterday was pretty stressful.

Either way, I put my nose to the grindstone and got it done.

These are the ones I'm most proud of.

Right on schedule with Workout Day 3 today.

Been a while since I did Rack Pull reps with 450 lbs.

At 65 I need to pick my spots but it felt pretty good.

We'll see if I'm singing the same tune tomorrow.

So Wednesday morning ( my off day) I woke up to what I'd call effectually sore.

The entire posterior chain felt mostly 'simulated', but in a good way.

However right after breakfast I was rewarded with several hours of snow blowing,

so my soreness was mostly replaced by a distracting level of pure fatigue.

I ate, hydrated and slept OK (despite the new moon) so in the end it was fine.

We'll see how today's training goes.

Might be a little sketchy . . . .

My last training for Jan 2025 was Workout Day 4.

Seems yesterday's extensive snow removal efforts were not a factor.

Pretty happy about that.

My clean diet & every other day training regiment has continued.

Going quite well I have to admit.

Just taking some time off from the video thing for a while.

However, I do expect to be back posting them in a month or so.

Switched up the routine a bit and I am digging it.

See ya when I see ya ~

A couple of weeks ago I switched up my workout, mostly just to keep it fresh and offer a safe & different type of challenge.  I put together a 4 Day noncompetitive Giant set split.  A “giant set” is just a term used to describe performing four or more exercises in a circuit with little to no rest between exercises.  No rest in this situation means the time it takes to move from one exercise to the next with perhaps a brief break of no more than a few seconds.  The less the better.

Noncompeting Giant Sets is when each of the exercises that make up the set target different muscle groups; that is, the exercises don’t compete for the energy of a single muscle or group of muscles.

The Noncompeting giant sets I am doing is performed as a circuit, repeating it 4 times with a brief rest in between each giant set. This ensures recovery time for the various muscle groups while keeping the heart rate elevated. Still training every other day.

I’ve done this in the past and do like it.  Don’t feel like it’s any harder or easier than other types of training, just different.  So perhaps muscular endurances vs straight up strength. Whatever that means at 65.  I will admit it’s a bit tricky to video in my small home gym.
